840 in 28ga is just a 840 worth a bit more than the more common 12 or 20. Usually sell in the 125-175 range.:)

Yep, that's about what I've seen Cooey's go for too.

If you decide not to buy it please let me know, I've been looking for a cheap 28ga myself.

Cheers,

Most of the 28ga go for $200 in VG or better condition.............I have one...........Harold

I bought an 840 28 gauge in average plus condition a month ago. I paid $130.00 which included the shipping so actual gun was about $110.00 I have seen them listed for $200.00 or more but I don't believe those have sold. Now if you find a model 84 in 28 gauge, they are usually worth a fair bit more, unless junk.

I've been looking for one of those for a while. They don't seem to turn up around here very often - if you ever want to sell it I'd be happy to make you an offer for it. ;)

Two or three on the EE in the past three months you must have missed them.
One was rough but the other two were in nice shape.

The Winchester/Cooey Model 840 was a Model 84 which was cheaper to manufacture .They used birch stocks ,plastic front hinges and alloy receivers. Some of the early Model 840s used left over Model 84 parts and had the walnut and steel instead of the less expensive parts.

Seems to me I have 3 or 4 fitting that description. All 12 Ga. Some steel some plastic. I'll have to check them out later.
