It not like im flying the flag out front guys.

I bought it specifically for the purpose of showcasing my k98 then it goes back in a trunk

I don't want to open a can of worms but about the flag, it is the one that the soldier, who carried that rifle, fought under and one that the rifle was made under as well.

I don't have a problem with it being displayed with a historical piece. Its the "other" uses I have issues with.

Enough said.

Was this Kar98k a vet bring back by chance ?

thanks for the praise guys. i just like to air them out every once in awhile and might as well share them with others. they are hidden away in the safe for so much of their lives....its a shame really.

Very neat, Kar98k vet bring backs in Canada appear to be more rare than the American ones. Is she duffle cut under the lower band ? Do you know anything about the vet and how he got ahold of the piece ?

The big question is have you shot her and how did she do ?

the Vet in question was actually American.

No duffle cuts. Complete matching wood.

Shoots very well. Functions nice and smooth.

Ahh, did you go through the import hassle to get her up here ? I've been thinking of trying this with a few hard to find milsurps but I'm not at that stage yet.

I wonder how he brought it back, I guess it was the same rule as Pacific vets in that the bolt must come out and would be returned afterwards (albeit in a buckle full of them). That may explain why the bolt on yours is mis-matched. Does the bolt match itself ?

the bolt has no numbers at all.
one waffenamt on the entire bolt, 63, and the firing pin has a different serial number from the rifle but same B suffix

I did not import it, it was imported 30 years ago.
