Agreed to an extent except fo the "semi auto" part. I want FA.
I used the FNC1A1 quite a few times in the cadet program as a young teen, great memories and a great rifle to shoot. I would love to own one just to bring back the memories at CFB Borden on the range. Good times, the best of my life actually.

along with service ammo supplied to familiarize Canadian civilian shooters in the use of Military pattern firearms, as a base that can be called upon in times of National troubles abroad. Wasn't this part of the DCRA's mandate or such in the past, or still is?

They all need to be "de-prohibited". Then we can once again have the West (FN-FAL) versus East (AK) showdown matches/events at our local ranges.

the fn has a "funny" history- ALL OF IT BAD - the "canadian" version went restricted about 75 or so- i remember b/c i wanted one so bad when i de-mobbed; we could get british and other versions, but if you wanted a canadian, you could only use it at the range; then basford( a LIBERAL, BTW- UNDER TURDEAU) decided that the rest of them should be restricted- that was somewhere between 78-82 or so; then i don't remember whether it it was campbell orthe liberals that finally nailed the coffin shut back in 92-93 and made it prohibited; it was either on the original c-68 or that order in council list or maybe on both that prohibited all "military" semi-automatic guns- ie the ones that were in the isreali surplus shipment- the m14s, the fns( there were quite a few of the those in there) , the g3s, uzis, stens, and a few 308 galils

My Grandfather had a FN C1A2 that was fun to shoot back in 90... he passed away in 98 and willed to me.. but being to young to have a FAC I got screwed over.. Still want that gun.. and his neighbor wanted me to have his collection of tommy guns and canadian firearms he had allot of prohibs.. he was upset that I didn't have it since he had no one to leave them to and was planing on giving them to me.. he was like son of a... He did offer to give them to me with out the paper work but I didn't want the legal trouble that could go with them so I said no.. still regret not being able to get them he had some really nice historical stuff.. even a protype tompson machine gun 1 out of 10.. He knew the creator of the tompson very well.


I say don't hold your breath because it wont happen.. not in my life time I think..
