Took about a year to get the horns and capes to Canada and then the taxidermist here got them done in record time....about 6 months.

Why does it take so long to get them to canada if I may ask? Is it the same if they were european mounts?

Partially because people are working on African time...lol But we hunted in an anthrax area so hides needed to be specially treated plus permitting takes time and we also had our full hides and backskins tanned there.

Nice mounts, I really like that kudu at the bottom. Northern Namibia I'm guessing? The question about what you ate made me chuckle a bit. When I was in Namibia a few years back, we had a steady diet of venision, almost none of which I shot. The locals took their meat seriously and wouldn't think of serving something not properly aged. We weren't in one spot long enough for that to happen very often. Gemsbok dessert steak was my favourite.
