Mossberg tactical

definitely reliable for now as i only shot about 1 full box of FEDERAL with 0 jams. Its a pretty fun rifle.
Can't wait to try it out with my new bipod/grip and red dot sight :D

I've got about 1000 rounds through mine, big hollow points+dirty gun=Jam'o! Anything else(round nose)+clean or dirty gun+big mags= trouble free.

This is the gun everyone is afraid to like. Peer pressure of all the "real ar styled 22's". Yes it is polymer and a ##### to take apart to clean, but works great and is fun! Oh and did i mention cheap as all hell! It did have a issue with the early 25rd mags but i believe that is a thing of the past. Not sure haven't had a chance to test my mags. Also there is a certain way to eject the mags. If not followed you will think it is stuck. It is not. Utube has some great reviews and video of use. Not much bad to say about this little rifle.

I purposely went through 700rd without cleaning to see if mine would jam.
I was shooting a vast array of different makes of ammo.
Remington Thumderbolts were the only fodder which did so but maybe just 1 out of 20.
( with this crap ammo , it surprised the helloutta me that the Mossy handled them so well )
I cleaned it only because it bugged me to have such a dirty rifle..lol
...aprox. 1500rd so far...no probs...all fun

I bought one from Cabelas and was very disapointed. Yes they are cheap but you get what you pay for because it is a very cheaply made rifle, it felt like a kids toy IMO wrapped around a .22 plinker.

I traded up for a Ruger SR-22 which is also unrestricted. If you want an AR, go for the S&W M&P 15-22, awesome gun and great training tool if you move up to a centre-fire AR because it functions almost like the real thing.

At around $245 it is cheap, which is why it "feels" as such. An SR is typically $550+ street price so for twice the money it should feel better.

The key is if it works well at the cost you can't really go wrong.

I think I'll be adding one to my collection shortly just for kicks.

cheap fun

Heard nothing but 'good" about them. Lots of U-Tube videos..rugger VS plinkster...the plinster had better accuracy every time. You can get the Plinkster model with scope for around $179.00. For $289.00 you get the totaly tricked-out model....how can you go wrong .:) Buying a plinkster soon, just for fun. Its cheap..its fun..costs nothing to shoot...looks cool...:)

X2 ... If you want something thats non-restricted and actually looks like an AR this is it. I don't care what you do to a SR-22 it doesn't come close to an AR look. And thats nothing against them ( I have 2 10/22 and love them) or the MP15-22 ( which looks awesome but sadly is restricted).

I will be getting one and had much deliberation about the Ruger and the Moss, but decided that I like the look and the price a lot more. I am actually splitting the cost and getting two firearms for the price of one Ruger SR22. Who knows maybe in the future might get a Ruger after all, but thats after the Mossy.

Question do AR parts/accessories fit on the MossTac.22?

Mossberg's website says its compatible... on my side i just used accessories with a weaver/picatinny rail to mount on it. What parts did you have in mind to change?

One of the local ma and pa gun shops in town told me today they have the 25 round mags on the way... Who knows if it was bs to try to get me to buy the 702 tac they have in stock... but they are usually pretty honest.

Cabelas has them on back order- I ordered them on backorder and had them in hand a week later. The new tac 22's come with the 25 rnd mag.

Got the mossberg out today and got to try the 25 rnd mags. Worked out well. Did jam a couple of times but i think it was due to too much lube from manufacturer in gun action or just didn't like winchester ammo. But was accurate at 50 yrds with red dot. Had a couple of bullseyes and not far off for rest of shots on average. put about 200 rnds through it. Alot of fun! Just finished taking it apart and cleaning all the extra lube out. Should be better for the next time. Would recommend to anyone. Easy to use easy to clean even for a newb like me.
