Mossberg model 340 magazine - anywhere?

I recently acquired a neat little Mossberg 340BA in .22 S/L/LR.
There's a feed ramp for single fire, but no magazine. Not being overconcerned about original parts, I would still like to find a mag for it.

After looking over Numrich's parts diagram, it seems my gun is also missing the magazine latch, which I suppose is attached to the bottom of the receiver where the feed ramp is now affixed

Brownells catalog has a model 42 magazine (currently out of stock) with the mag catch on the bottom of the magazine - not the rifle. This seems like it would work on my gun without worrying about the magazine latch. Does anyone know if this would work?

You could also try Havlins for a magazine. They also carry a lot more parts than shown on their web site. Problem is though if you are in Canada, neither they or Numrich will take Canadian orders any longer. You would have to get someone in the US to order for you, Also, I'm not sure if the model 42 magazine will work. You might want to join rimfire central forum and under the Mossberg forum you will find all kinds of guys who are Mossberg fanatics who are always willing to lend a hand. They know everything about Mossbergs and could tell you if the magazine would work before spending any money.
