Hi Everyone,
I'm sure this has been discussed to death but I'm looking for an optic for my SR-22. So far I'm thinking of either the Vortex Strikefire or the Bushnell trophy 1x32 that looks like the acog. I've heard pro's and con's of both, I'm just wondering if someone has had the chance to look at both and which one people would lean towards. This is mainly going to be used for plinking and having fun. Thank you for everyone's input.

Cheers,
Ryan

You cant go wrong with a Trijicon cost more but its top of the line and fit so perfectly on my sr-22... JP.

At this point a Trijicon is out of the price range for this project. I'm looking for something under the $200 mark. Too many other toys to build at this time to spend all the cash on one.

I have the vortex SPARC on my mossberg tac .22 and I love it. Nice and small suits the gun well compared to a larger scope that looks like it belongs on a rifle. Just my opinion, but something to consider! I looked at the trophy it was nice to and would work just fine for a .22. Good luck!

For excellent clarity and inside your budget parametres a Redfield Revolution 3X9X40, they are very good... JP.

I put a Burris Fullfield 2X7 Ballistiplex on mine and its lighter and smaller than most other scopes I have but very solidly built. No AO on it but I'm not seriously target shooting with the SR or shooting much farther than 100-125 yrds so thats a mute point. Whats nice is that the reticle allows perfect zero at 50-75-100 yrds using the tiny X plex segments at 7X power, so i'm not cranking much on the turret (reticle must be aligned level for this to work good). The 2X is great for fast aquisition of moving squirrels ect.. in the woods if you are so inclined. Got mine for $150. My SR is tricked out a bit but its is not nearly that accurate of a rifle to warrant several hundred dollars worth of glass on it..just my .02 worth here.

I can't speak for anything else but I put a Bushnell Trophy Red Dot ($89) on my 597VTR and I love it. The shots go where the dot is.

I would suggest the Vortex Strikefire, I have heard many more bad things against the bushnel "acog" and if there is any flaws with your strikefire, they have a GREAT warranty on them. I also prefer the look of it over the Bush.
