Yesterday was at the range to brake in my new mr-1 few shot and i clean that was enough, after that clean every 10 shots, overall shots 180 no jams, work flawlessly, was shooting WWB 45 gr at 100 metres adjust my Trijicon and did not shoot for the best groups but on the sands bags it was staying in the 2 inch mark. This is one of the most fun rifle i ever shot i am very happy with it... JP.

Yes 223 and it is like a non-restricted black rifle, they just delivered my 2 LAR-15 mag plus one coupler today, next time i go to the range ill try those. I have nothing against the mini-14 but it not even close to the Benelli MR-1... I would say performance wise it is close to my brother AR, strip it for cleaning and little darkening ,bit of black residus ,little paint brush and finish all clean almost 200 shot not dirty when they say that it burn clean it does... JP.

Can you get them with a different stock? I heard about a collapsable one and a normal rifle one without the pistolgrip is on their website?

For the price and non- restricted , it's a winner!

Glad to hear you like it! It is a great option if the ergonomics work for you, personally they don't for me, just feels a tad unnatural, but the rifle is VERY reliable and quite accurate!

I'm happy to see them going to owner who like them :D

Actullaly my first set up with the Trijicon was to low i had to force my cheek down to align good after that i put the higher see-tru i could find Leopold Rifleman Xhigh detachable see-tru and i had a natural and perfect cheekweld, and perfect ergonomic never look back after that... JP.

IMHO :yingyang: , a scoped MR-1 is pretty easily accomodated with a "near-chin-weld"...:)...but the iron sights are pretty solid straight fro mthe factory...;)...and I hardly feel any concern with the barrel heating up/widening groups b/c of overheated barrels...:D

With the Leopold Rifleman Xhigh see-thru i see perfectly the metallic sight so its a win win situation for close shooting... JP.

1) I sure as hell hope more stock choices become available for these, I want to be able to shorten the LOP on the fixed pistol grip version. Stoegger Canada says the mr1 recoil pads are currently propietary and their r1/comfortech pads will not fit. The very least I hope they come out with slim pads to shorten LOP by even .5inch-1inch. That being said, more stock options or slim recoil pads, if only because the ungodly adjustable stock version is a horror to my eyes.

2) Where in gods name do I find an MR1 Tri-rail picatinny mount. Backordered item for over 6 months at more than 10 stores I've just called.

3) Thinking of chopping to 18.5" as well...

4) the furniture looks like it might look ok with a paint/imaging jobby...

I think I'm going to tread new waters and see what I can do with this gun customization wise. Don't think anyones gone this route quite yet.

that isn't an MR-1 it's an R1 as far as i can tell function the exact same way, but won't kill bunnies by sight alone lol. They still make me have to change my pants though lol. the R1 comes in a few different calibers. They won't accept AR mags though.

In the US there is a CA friendly MR1 with comfortech traditional stocked version. Have not seen these in Canada. Then again, the benelli comfortech stocks alone are 600$ or so compared to the $150-200 for the regular pistol grip stocks.

yet.

I've got a SBEII and i can get the recoil pad from it into my MR1. It's a tight fit but it works. I ordered the thinner SBEII pad from Numrich in the US for the SBE and shaped the 1" pad down to a rifle thickness pad for my MR1. Can post a pic if you want.

On the benelli website, I see 2 types of recoil pads, the R1 type and the Comfortech type.

Is the one your talking about the Comfortech pad? The 13 7/8" thin one?

A pic would help as well...

It is the Comfortech pad and was originally a 14 7/8" length that I ground down to close to the 13 7/8" to use on my SBE for Turkey. I also thought the MR1 would benefit from a shorter LOP stock as rifles aren't shot the same as shotguns. The Comfortech pad is solid compared to the MR1 pad which is hollow.

The comfortech pads come in a 13 7/8" don't they?

wouldn't I just be able to buy the slim version and fit it in without having to do anymodifications?

This is strange because I talked to the benelli customer service reps and they told me the comfortech pads would NOT fit the MR1. If you are saying it WILL fit, I most definately will want to get the slim 13 7/8" pad.
