wich one between x-bolt and tc icon..help me

i would like to change my hunting rifle and i have two rifle in mind. wich one would be the best ? browning x-bolt stainless stalker or the thompson center icon. maybe i'm looking for 7 mm rem mag or 30-06 ?
thnaks for your help
 
Not even close the TC Icon is ( speak with experience i own 4 ) is the most accurate rifle out of the box, you will be good with a Browning but the Icon is just sooo good an the integrated bases make so easy ... JP
 
Go and read what the experts have to say, nobody here is an expert, TC Icon ist the best kept secret of the industry, do your homework you will find out... JP.
 
You need to look more closely at both of them. I think you will find a considerable weight difference. I can't speak directly to the Icon, but I have handled a few ventures, and they are a fair bit heavier then the x-bolt. I also read a review on the venture, and it had feeding problems, not saying this is the case with the icon, but something to consider. They are both accurate rifles from what I've heard, and seen.

Am I biased yes, but that's the input I think you are looking for. I've got a 300wsm in an x-bolt, shoots pretty consistent 3/4 moa, and often better, "very" light rifle, in fact lighter on my scale then my Rem mountain rifle in 270. Those fat stubby rounds feed like butter out of that rotary mag. I'm very impressed with the rifle, but like I said go put your hands on both of them, and I think you will know which one you will want, good luck.
 
i have done some reserch on the web and there is a lot of positif stuff for the tc icon. everything talk about a incredible grouping, always les than 1 inch at 100 meters. there is positif for the x-blot too but it seem to be less than the tc icon. i will have to make a choice....???

You obviously feel you are the expert.However as you say ,there are no experts that use this forum...
 
I only held an Icon in the store once. Looked nicely made, but WAAY too heavy for what I want. I held a venture in the store once too. It was a fair bit lighter, but I did not like the plastic stock at all.
I held an x-bolt in the store once... and bought it. Feels great, and shoots better. Then, I went and bought another one [the carbon fiber variation in 300 WSM]. Also excellent.
 
I have a Stainless Stalker X-Bolt in .300WSM and a Weather Shield Icon in .308W. The Icon is a fair bit heavier than the X-Bolt but a significantly more refined. Both have adjustable trigger, bolt that locks / removable on safe.

Icon: integrated bases, grove in bolt, 5R rifling, flat bottom receiver, 3 action screws / recoil lugs, single stack mag, tool to service bolt.

X-Bolt: angled bolt handle (good ergonomics), beefier rotary mag.

Wont compare accuracy as different cases but both will shoot as well as most people are capable of. Bought the X-Bolt because wanted a Kimber Montana but could not justify $600 more for the Kimber (went to new pack & boots) and the X-Bolt was qualitatively the light weight rifle at a reasonable price point (no plastic bolt shroud as with Sako). If weight not an issue, Icon without a second thought.
 
I have handled both extensively in the store and at the range. For me, I much prefer the X Bolt, but I do recognize the TC Icon represents very good quality too. I just prefer the ergonomics, fit and feel of the X Bolt, and it is significantly lighter in weight too.
 
The only Browning i own is a 450 Marlin BLR so i can not talk for the X Bolt, just can talk about my Icons, i would not being honest to discridited it without knowing i am shure its a top rifle i am just very impress by my Icons... JP.
 
I dont compare them what i am saying is the when i shot my Icon P.H. and i was grouping .25 out of the box on par with my TRG i was shock, just wanted to tell everyone how good these rifles shoot, i shot for pleasure when i make a nice find i like to share it with peoples dont mean to put nobodys rifle down, sorry if i offend someone... JP.
 
I own one A-Bolt and have no plan to buy other one in near or far future , full of crap.

Used and tested two others and belived
All of A bolt or X bolts , piece of Sh!tt

Buy anything but Browning - Biggs
