Beretta Urika 2

Not sure what this kick-off is either. But love my Urika II. Shot target load from its first shot and has cycled them all. I think I have 750 rounds through it already,

The Kick-Off is a recoil reducer built into the butt pad that works like a shock absorber on a car.

I was shooting a gun with one yesterday and it only reconfirmed that I don't like this type of recoil reducer no matter who makes them. The added weight changes the balance of the gun and I find the movement of the butt distracting. But they do work if recoil is an issue for a shooter.

I'd suggest going without the Kick-Off at first to see whether recoil is a problem. The Kick-Off can be added later to a Beretta factory stock if needed.

Not a KO fan either ... besides, the felt recoil from a Urika is virtually nil when compared to an O/U, SxS or pump. I have no problem at all shooting a couple of flats of target loads through my 391 Parallel Target on a day at the range ... it's much less tiring than shooting a single flat through an O/U.

If you were looking for a dedicated a 3-1/2" waterfowl/turkey gun, then the KO may be a worthwhile consideration, or are otherwise overly recoil sensitive, but for an "all-around use" 3" chambered auto-loader, I'd rather not have it.
