how many rounds is this in 147gr 9mm? I plan on going to Vegas in september and want to know how many rounds I can take, and how many I can get the wife to take.;)

350 Moe and you cannot put them into the same bag, so you have to have one bag for the gun, one bag for 350 ammo and another bag for 350 ammo.

When travelling by car - you can take across as much as you have listed on your Form6 per caliber.
And when coming back home - up to that amount of unused leftover ammo without a single headache.

thanks Walter,...sounds simple. One case for my guns,. One bag or case for my ammo, one bag or case for my wife to declare as I will likely need more... (does my wife have to have an FAC to declare the ammo before we board the plane?) Coming back won't be the issue, as the ammo will be gone.

What airline? I have an email from Westjet where they confirm you CAN have ammo and guns in the same bag, so long as they are separate.

Rob, that might be an airport regulation. I've been once told at WestJet counter that ammo has to go into a separate bag.

This is from westjet corporate I can pass onto any Westjet customer. Its an airline policy not airport.

Rob can you please email me a copy of that?

Moe no she does not need a PAL to have your ammo in her bag. In fact you don't need a PAL to carry ammo, just to buy it!

The only thing that concerns me is if she is claiming for the flight, then she might have required a form 6.

I am going via halifax -new jersey then Vegas in September. I assume once in the air i can claim her ammo as mine.

Why take any down when you can buy it there for half price?

As a "Non Resident Alien", in Arizona I would have to get a "General Hunting Permit" before I could buy ammo. It costs $151.00 which makes ammo a tad more expensive. Plus as a competitive shooter all my guns shoot loads that have been worked up for them for Cowboy Action shooting.

The hunting licence can be from ANY state (not necessarily the one you're in)

Get a non-game hunting licence from North Dakota for $17.00 USD. Apply online, pay with a credit card, and then simply press print!

I have a current form 6 with Alaska or North Dakota hunting lic

Just waiting on my package for USPSA nationals. With Canada Post on strike...it could be very last minute....
