Did I bugger up by MkII FV?

Ok I was running a patch through my FV and the rod, a dewey one peice with a brass jag, and i noticed it would not go in, so I figured it wos just a tight patch so i gave the rod a bit of a smack, I then realized the patch had slipped off the jag and had pushed the rod sideways in the chamber, and the resistance was the jag on the rifling.

I am kinda panicking that I buggered up the rifles in my new rifle. I don't think I did as brass is considerably softer then steel but the .22 rifleing is quite light.

So did I do a bad thing?

Seriously though, I doubt you damaged it too bad if at all. Like you said, brass is softer than steel.

I seriously doubt you hurt anything with a brass jag, which is why they are brass. The only way to know is to check the chamber/bore with a good light and then shoot it again to see if it still performs. Considering that the crown is by far the most important part of the barrel and you did this at the chamber end, I think you are fine.

Brass will never bother steel. You did do a bad thing though. Quit hittin' your rifle.
