kings optics canada

A lot of my friends have king optics scopes and love them..others don't. I personally don't use optics but the most accurate rifle I have fired is a ruger .270 with king optics glass. If I were to get a scope it'd be a bushnell elite. People seem to hate specific brands (I've heard people hating on ruger rifles , really whats up with that ? ) but I guess its just preference. Also why do people think Cape Breton and NFLd are even remotely close to the same province :p

Ahh Come on.:p
Labor is expensive and it takes a lot more expensive labor time to make scope tubes when 1 is using an axe and then to hand polish the lens in the sand in the parking lot, so ofcourse these scopes will be expensive junk:rolleyes:
You need to get your facts straight!! King optics is located near several beaches and they ONLY use the finest beach sand to polish their lenses. No King Optics scope would ever be fouled using parking lot sand!! :p:p:p;)

My apologies. I thought the maker claimed it was more efficient in getting the sand blown up from the beach there by solving the transport costs and also getting all impurities removed by cyclonic action during delivery.:p

nice Rez on the topic.

maybe this should just be stickied so CGNutz members have a better chance at not getting boned by these guys.

If you want Canadian made try Scorpion optics, I have had some issues but they have counter warranty, no sending for repairs just off with the old on with the new

Not made in Canada man. More junk to add to the pile. It baffles me that people will buy a piece of crap just because they can exchange it over the counter.

Especially when you can buy something good, have a slim chance of needing warranty and get it replaced anyways if it does break. Standing behind a solid product is not the same as selling cheap junk at such high markup that you still make a profit sending the customer multiple replacements. But maybe I'm just out of touch never needing warranty on my optics hehehe.

Let me get this straight...somewhere up in Cape Breton, Nova Scotia a guy with a somewhat shady "slip out the back door" past as a "gunsmith" is making scopes?! Bringing in parts from China and making (not inexpensive) scopes? And advertising them as "Made in Canada"? (legally maybe they are). And selling them even though almost everybody thinks they are total crap? I notice on their website they have several (several?) dealers on Cyprus and in Greece? The whole thing seems bizarre...Chinese scopes from Cape Breton? ...and a Greek connection...Weird...

There's a prof at one of the eastern universities who maintains that the Chinese settled on top of a mountain in Cape Breton prior to the arrival of John Cabot. Maybe they were making scopes. Doesn't sound so farfetched now, does it?

I'm "a prof at one of the eastern universities" and I think the theory that Chinese were making scopes in Cape Breton before Cabot is unlikely....I think the Vikings were the first to make scopes in Cape Breton....followed by the Greeks.

I thought I was taught it was the Norseman first making these! lol

There is a place nearby here that sells king optics scopes. I have looked them over a few times. First thing that came to mind was "woah, $800, these must be good". Then I took a closer look... Just from the look and feel alone , you can tell that they aren't what they are cracked up to be. They just look "cheap." I had one fella there tell me that he had a friend that used all bushnell elite 6500 scopes... Tried king optics, and sold all of his elites, and switched to king. I told him I didn't know what his buddy was smoking, but I'd like to try a baggy.
