I took my new SR-22 out for it's first trip out to the range and have to say,I am very impressed with this little gun!
It had no failures at all, sighted in very quickly and handled very nicely.

I did consider a VTR remy but was impressed with the quality of the Ruger.

If anyone is on the fence about getting one, just do it!

If you dont mine spending a bit more this sr-22 is the first 22 i own that shoot the CCI Stinger so accuratly like 1.25 at 100 metres, powerfull and accurate , the best of both world... JP
 
Nice gun, but what you have there appears to be a loaded gun with a closed action sitting on the couch... f:P:

Accidents happen from people not following some pretty simple safety rules, like for example, not loading your gun until you are on the firing line or otherwise in a place you are going to shoot it.
 
I've got my eye on this gun too.

Don't think I've come across a single negative comment about it.

Yeah, don't fret. It was on empty chamber and pointed down range. (my local range is very luxurious....)

It amazes me how as soon as you cross the border into Canada how people's attitudes change.
Just across the border there are literally hundreds of thousands of revolver and Glocks sitting loaded in night stands, car gloveboxes and (heaven forbid) Holsters!

Yet here a seemingly(not) loaded 22 causes a stir of safety concerns.
 
I like mine too. Ran 50 rounds thru it then decided to up the LCF with a 12.5" HB and some rails from Dlask, It wreaks of awesomness now, lol!

If you want to be aware of one potential weakness for the accuracy of this rifle, here is a little test you can do. Shoot a string of 5 shot groupings off the bench while your supporting the front end from under the handguard. Then repeat the same string but support the rifle underneith the receiver frame where the mag sits, you need to use the small mag. Do this in a way that nothing touches the handguard. Weve tried this on 3 SR22's at our range and the groupings considerably shrunk...one shrunk by almost 50%.
These were all rifles with the support block removed.

The POS adapter plate secures that handguard by 2 small screws at the bottom and in no way whatsoever mimics an AR's more secure attachment. On top of that, some of thes plates are less than square and flat on their mating surfaces with the receiver and can flex. Even worse than that, any pressure on the handguard is levered into the lower part of the receiver below where the barrel sits and will move that barrels positioning around just enough to open up your groups.

50 meters, resting on the handguard = 1"+ groups for me. Shooting with the rifle braced on the receiver, 5/8" usually.
