ODPL match reminder

Hey.. If he didn't get a PE with you know who ROing then he must have done everything according to the stage brief.

What's PE? I should get a FTSA - failure to shoot awake or FTDC - failure to drink coffee.

I knew off the bat who beat me but damnit why did it have to be so close...:HR:

The best/only way to get practice/experience is to venture out and shoot some matches.
Don't be shy... Next GRGC match is July 23rd.
All you gotta do is let the MD know you're new and he'll make sure you have a safe/fun shoot.

I'm doing my IDPA NSO course this weekend. Do you think July 23 would be too soon for me to shoot my first match? Should I attend and watch first on this one? I don't mind looking stupid, but I'm just trying to get into this sport and I don't want to get in the way. I'm envisioning my first few times playing golf with the old pros riding up my butt and getting frustrated with how slow I was.

It's never too soon.

Should I attend and watch first on this one?.

That would be a waste of gasoline. B'sides... Match fee for shooters is $20. Match fee for watchers is $199

I don't mind looking stupid,.

Well you'll fit right in with the rest of us...

I don't want to get in the way..

As long as you're not down range when the timer beeps... You're not in the way.

This ain't golf.. and really, slow is sometimes better. I mean shooters who can miss fast don't usually do very well score wise.
Pretty much at every match we have a handfull of first timers... They have all survived.

'See you on the 23rd.

This isn't golf. No-one cares how fast you are - as long as you shoot safely and know your gear well enough to not fumble, you'll be fine. If you are still fumbling, take a bit more practice time both dry and loaded. Dry is cheaper (mag changes and draw/present being the two things easily practiced without ammo).

you would be surprised what has been set up outside over the years..........
nice to see that you guys at galt finally fixed up the indoor range, but Beresmith still likes to RO the outdoor stages in the winter time...

With walrus poetry like grace I might add
Thus the importance of punctuation and other non-alphabetic markings - you needed a "-" joining "poetry" and "like". Otherwise it reads as "walrus poetry" done "like grace" would have done it. Walruses don't write poetry ;)

As mentioned at the match, you're looking a lot more fluid than in the first couple of matches. So keep up the good work!

Which club are you talkin' about...?

Ipsc BB isn't the only qual. You can use y'know...
If you want I'll send you contact info for a couple of courses in order to get holster cert.

I'd like to take you up on that offer if I could please sir. I've been a member out of Galt for over 15 years, since I was 7 in fact. Interested in completing holster cert and possibly joining Guelph.
