Question: Grizzly 8.5/Mag hybrid possible?

So as the title states...I was staring/ogling some 8.5" barrelled grizzly shotguns today, and then some 12.5" mag fed ones...I was thinking "it sucks how little shells one can hold in the mag tube of a 8.5" shotty"....

Then the thought hit me: has anyone tried/does a version exist, of an 8.5" MAG FED grizzly shotgun? Anyone tried making one?

Would be awesome to have a non-res 8.5" barrelled grizzly, but with the capacity of a magazine!

Sorry if it seems immature or dumb, but I thought I would ask! If this was a possibility, I might one day trade in my 1911 for a small shotty!
 
I got in touch with can ammo 6 months ago, maybe more? They said they were planning on trying it, I think the early eta was this coming spring. Best to contact them.

I figure its just a matter of taking the 12.5" receiver, slapping on a shorter mag tube (to compensate for the shorter barrel), putting on the 8.5" barrel and going for it!

it can't be that hard! It seems like something that COULD be done at home to be honest! (not sure how legal that is, or how badly someone would want to hack their magtube up, although if you intend to use ONLY magazines, it would not matter really).

I think its been done by special order. Not sure if it was Dlask. Pics and a review were posted on this site. Try a search. There is also a pic of it on AR15.com in there shot gun forum pron thread, start at the end and work your way back. It pictured on a counter-top.

What about a barrel swap with a 8.5 barrel and a mag fed grizzly?

That's what I was actually thinking, but I am not sure about the magtube length on the 12.5". I don't want it sticking out a mile an extra foot haha.

Curiosity: If it were mag fed, how SHORT would the fore-end/fore-grip have to be cut/manufactured? I mean, you could make a cut out in the bottom of the grip to make it slide over the magazine, but your hand may still sometimes get in the way...the one in the link above (on the counter), seems to have a tube with rails on it for the fore end LOL.

So Now we play the waiting game..... :) haha.

I guess I can wait a year! With any luck, the LGR will be gone by next year (WISHFUL thinking lol), and I can buy one registry paperwork free if they remain Non-res! I'd rather a box fed 8.5" grizzly than a pistol I think :)
