Kel Tec SU-16F is now "NON-RESTRICTED"

Just read on the Vault web page that as of June 23, 2011 the SU-16F was just voted in as the next "NON-RESTRICTED" black rifle to come to Canada.
I have already wrote my email to put in my order, there will be 50 of them coming to canada very soon.:dancingbanana:

who voted? i dont recall a election being held. i would vote agianst this thing because it is super ugly.:puke:

Yardie, I found this pic. It says it's the F version. But from what I read, the F version is just the Canadian version.

Thank you Rootzee, definitely appreciated. But looking at Ohno's pics:

From the Vault page:

Is the front blade sight on the end of the barrel (not a fan) or on the gas block?

The optional rear stock kit definitely adds to the appeal though!

I'd rather see the Hi-Point 4095TS come to Canada with a non-restricted barrel length. It would only be $399. Just as much a looker as the SU-16F.

I'm with Yardie, I hope the iron sight is on the gas block, rather then that big clunky one at the end of the barrel. I'm becoming a big fan of the one Juster posted. Folding, collapsible stock and railed fore-end? Sign me up.

Do I want mine to fold up like a philipina contortionist, or do I want mine to collapse like some cheese eating surrender monkey???

Man I hate making these decisions.

Maybe I can afford both if the price keeps to a grand?

thing is with this rifle it looks like it has lots of nice after market stuff you can add. but if you add this stuff like the side folder or AR colapable but, pistol grip ect ect it looks like you will lose the foldability of this thing as a underfolder. that would defeat the reason for purchase of this rifle. well at least for me anyways.

I like the looks of the one with the optional forend rail and rear stock kit... My only question is... How much?

Cheers
Jay

I'm pretty sure the only thing different on the Su-16A2 from the SU-16A is that the front sight is on the gas block, and the canadian version (SU-16F) is the same as the A2. The A2 is the only one with a 18" barrel and the only differance between the A2 and the F is the calibur markings, A2 has 5.56 and the F is .223rem so that they can import into Canada.

Vault's comments on there board were that they were "hoping" to bring these in at just under $1000, plus add onto to that the retail markup and you should be close to what we will be paying for these.

It's a neat gun, they retail in the US for around $500-550. We can buy most guns here at almost US retail now. So while I'm willing to pay a small premium, I'm not interested in getting hosed for double US retail cost.

However, the market is driven by the people willing to pay for the product. Not by the people that don't want to buy it.

And how other's wish to spend their own disposable income is none of my business either. So it will sell for what the market can bear.

Yeah I get it. But market success is also determined by value, ACR is a good example.

Remember: The importers tie up a LOT of money in these shipments. Whoever imports them first has to jump through all the expensive and time-consuming hoops. It's only logical that the first batch is more expensive. If they review and sell well, you can expect larger shipments in the future, thereby lowering the price.

Entitled, much?
