I just installed a samson evolution 12 inch hand guard and my norinco m4 and when I tighten the retaining bolts the front of the hand guard lifts causing poor alignment and a horrable sight pitcure, I have installed the thermal bushings both ways and tried tightening the bolts while applying pressure to the hand guard still with no luck and sent a question to there tech support and just waiting for a answer back has anybody else had a simular problem like this

thanks John

You have the bushings installed like this?

The tube should only slide on if you have the bushings "right side up". If it slides on smoothly I can't see why it would tilt up unless there's something wrong with the upper.

gas block has lots of room
I finally wedged a shim in at the top betwen the reciever and the hand guard after the hand guard was tight
one suggestion I got was the barrel nut on this model of gun might be different that other manufactors, but dont have another one to compare it to
but the quality and look of this hand guard is great and even better is the price
gonna see if I can sight it in now
will post some pics soon

got an answer back from samson

Do you mean that the front end of the rail is lifting? If so there is a way to straighten that out. When you put the rail on and put it against the upper, separate it from the upper by a about 1/16” and hold pressure down on the front when you tighten it. While you are holding it down it will be down hill to the receiver but when you tighten the screws you will feel it pull back up and if you do this right it will be straight with the receiver. Be sure to tighten the screws until the clamps are touching. Hope this helps. let me know if you have any questions.
