Saw the Maurauder kit video and was thinking of selling my 597 and getting the 10/22 (as much as I like 597 more) just becaue I love the G36 look! How much can I ask/get at the most for my set up?

Remmy 597 with;
One factory mag,
One 33 round mag (new, -not pictured),
9"-13" Winchester bipod,
Tasco 2.5-10x Varmint/Target Mil-dot scope with mounts
Edit: forgot I installed the VQ hammer!

It depends on a lot of different things. How many rounds did you put through it? Did you keep it properly cleaned? How much did you invest in accessories. It's your rifle, you know it best. Whatever your asking price, be reasonable.

Well, for example. I just sold my 597, with a scope, boyds tacticool stock, VQ hammer and extractor, origional stock and a bipod for 300.... had it listed at 450 and all I heard was crickets. Went to 350 and had one guy show up..

Sad since I was into it for over 600 but thems the breaks. So yeah yours... since the package ones sell for 229, I think you could get 200 but it's going to be tough.

i spent at least 375 on everything

That means $250.00 or less for the set up is what you can expect. You sure aren't going to get what you paid or a person might as well go and buy new. I just took close to a $400.00 loss on a shotgun that I fired about 9 times. Guns are just like cars. The minute you take it out of the box you can expect quite a loss.

For that exact reason, the only two guns I have sold, will be the only two I ever sell. I won't buy another one I don't want for life, it hurts to much to sell them for 1/2 what you paid!

It's the one reason I will never sell my SR22, I've dumped close to $1800 in rifle and parts. And I highly doubt I can get that if I ever wanted to sell it.

you should just keep it and get yourself a 10/22. You will never get what you want for it, sorry bud!!

Asking prices for handguns on EE are usually slightly more than they list at new. Not taking into account of taxes and shipping. And they sell!

what the hell is up with that since when did shooting a gun 500 times make it go up in price?

Well I put it up on EE. not interested in anything in 200 range, might as well be giving it away. if it doesn't sell just I'll keep it -I actually like that gun a lot. Just have a thing about having only one rimfire rifle at a time.

Lol, aint that the truth. Maybe i can get 400 for my Hi-point since it's really broken in at about 2000 rounds?

I'd hang on to it. It's a classic firearm, in the making. Probably the more rounds you put through it, the more valuable it will become.

Look at the Remington 788. They go for about double of when new, and besides having a fast lock time, they are a "Plain Jane" at best. A good, solid, dependable gun becomes a classic.

Yes, and the 788 has been out of production for 30 years. A lot of the 788s bought today are by Silhouette and Target shooters who rebarrel them. They like the fast lock time. There is a demand for the 788 Remingtons.

The Remington 700 was introduced in 1962, and what is the price of a used one today, versus the cost of a new 700 today?

About half!

A used rifle, in production today, should sell for 50 to 65 % of the cost of a new one, depending upon condition. Each model depends upon scarcity, usefullness, popularity, and demand.

If you really want to go to extremes on suggesting prices, back in 1961 I bought a complete Lewis Gun, cased, with spare parts for $60. Today, it would be worth about $10,000.

Many people on these forums give a figure, but if they really were backed into a corner and asked to put up or shut up, and produce the amount of money they suggest that the firearm is worth, then it becomes another story, and you can bet that they would NOT pay the amount they quoted.
