how many .22's do you own? And why? (hunting/Collecting etc..)

I have a Ruger Mark I Bull Barrel w/Red Dot
A Marlin 351KB with a 3X9 Scope
and a Norinco JW15A W/13 inch barrel/W/Red Dot.

The Norinco gets the most work outs.

1 cooey model 60 its been handed down since it was bought new

hunting,plinking,pest control

ive used it to kill every thing from mice to wolf

for plinking ive used .22lr all the way down to bb caps

pest control i find .22 shot to be good enough for sparrows, mice, rats

Savage 4c preWWII it was given to me by my brother in law. I don't know it's whole story but i know it's old but in wonderful shape.

savage mk II

marlin 795

Your post raises doubts in my mind.
Your recent posts most often demonstrate wishful thinking versus learned experience.
22 LR shot is only good for delousing pigeons. Shot for rats! Give me a break!
I find it very very hard to believe you have actually cleanly taken a wolf at any range with 22 LR. That pretty much nails it...........:p

I can find it believeable that a past relative of yours took deer with it, and that's about it IMO.

lol ive got pic's with him in it the vary model 60 i own today resting on a deer

people underestimate the the .22 its taken more then its fare share of deer

and trust me a .22 lr has taken a wolf or 2 in my hands when your out hunting small game and you only have your .22 with you and you see a wolf you shoot it

people compensate for not being able to shoot with bigger cals

once we get are range back up i'll show you what a .22lr can do in the right hands split bullets any one :) hmm if a put my scope back on(i cant see too good eye problems) i mite try for a match head

There's a Nylon 66 I bought as a fixer-upper and I am now wanting to sell. It had buttstock damage that I was pleased to be able to fix (I like working with plastic), but now it's just sitting there, as I am (admittedly) frightened to strip the bugger down to its internals.

If you find a manual for the Nylon 66 it warns you in bold type not to strip down the gun. Remember years ago a guy brought one into the store I worked at, took it to pieces and found it impossible to get back together. We sent it back to Remington and it was many months before it came back.

Just wondering how many of you have more than enough or not enough rimfires in your safes.

Cooey 39
Cooey 600 w/scope - family heirloom of sorts
Marlin 795 - wanted a semi
H&R Sportster - simple, rugged and ambidextrous

That covers single shots, repeaters, semis and hinge actions. Variety being the spice of life, I still want a falling block, lever, lefty bolt and later on a revolver. I like that rimfires allow such a collection of firearms that are so different from one another, all reasonably priced. Each requires a different skill to master but for the most part, are all fed from the same box.

TOZ single shot
Savage .22 - .410 over/under
Browning BLR
Ithica .22 magnum - single shot lever action carbine (what the hell was I thinking?)
Ruger 10/22
Browning Challenger

Ruger 10/22 All-Weather
Marlin 981TS
Browning BL-22
Norinco Woodsman

My goal is to own at least one rimfire in every action. I have a semi, bolt, and lever so next on my list a Remington 572 Fieldmaster pump. If there is a modern rimfire revolver rifle I'll buy that too!

....another post, sure to get lost in the pile. :) All rimfires included...

Anschutz 1450 .22lr~bolt action repeater
Norinco JW15 "Back packer"~.22lr bolt action repeater
Winchester 1903~.22 Winchester Automatic~semi-automatic
Savage 93FV~.22WMR~bolt action repeater
CZ 452 Varmint .17HMR~bolt action repeater

I don't want to say I'm "done" with rimfires, as I have a few on the wish list..but 5 is more than I can shoot. (leaving out the Winchester, ammo. is rare and expensive) In the last 12 months, I've "plinked" with the Norinco, and hunted with the CZ and Savage. The latter....doing-in a big groundhog yesterday.
