H&k g36

F22 RaptoR,

The RCMP didn't change the rules on Police Services selling off their firearms, it was a federal law passed through Parliament.

wow this thread has become a fighting war between G36 owner and Non-G36 Owner.

Seriously calm down!!

The last G36P I saw for sale was around $8k, now if you don't like it don't buy it. In the States Law-Enforcement Department can get a H&K G36 for around $1000 used or $1200-1400 depending on the setting.
H&K are famous for increasing their prices on guns. Polymer guns like G36/SL8 are cheap to manufacture, they don't cost over 1/2 of the SL8 prices as everyone knows.

With all the heated debate over peanuts you often see on this forum, it's a wonder that we can stand together against those that want guns banned. I've noticed the hostility levels are always higher on gun websites than your average forums. Strange.

I think I would pay 10k for a G36. I figure they will ban them as soon as they get around to it so they will be harder to find in the future. Futuristic looking guns made by Germans yet still limited to 5 rounds must impart special powers to even the worst shooters.

I live in my own little HK world, ok.
Seriously, it's a great gun but probably not capable of winning a high level service rifle match. Very reliable, in-fact one of the most reliable assault rifles ever made, but trigger sucks, I think a bit of flex in the receiver, bit of a high sight line, but I still really like it.

If another one came up for the 3K range I'd buy it....but we all wait for that day....

I don't get why some don't believe these cannot be imported. Obviously some folks are a bit more resourceful than others. Rather Than bash fellow posters why not become friends rather than foe, might be real surprised as to who knows what and who can get what. As for me I'd go with elektrobugs info as being darn near gospel on this particular subject. Just a hunch and pics not even necessary.

Where did you get that?

The issue has never been that they can't be imported, it's that they can't be sourced. If H&K were willing to sell them to the public, they would likely be readily available through FN Sports.

They CAN be sourced, that's the issue. FN cannot source them, doesn't mean they cannot be sourced. Exactly the same issue with the hk45. Fn can't get them. Ellwood epps can. Think outside the retail box and you will get what you can afford.

From where?

I should also note that the H&K45 is available for sale to civilians, the G36 is not (this is an H&K policy, not law). Getting an H&K45 out of the U.S. has to do with State Department approval, not H&K corporate policy.

it means the german govt will not issue an export license for them to leave the Germany.

My only issue with these is ever time they change hands they go up another $3000. I had the chance 5 years ago to but a UMP in 9mm with 6 mags for $3200 and passed on it. The same guy was selling a G36K for around the same price. I didn't buy it for two reason. The first being were are you going to get parts. The second being I wanted more mags. If you know the right people you can still get a G36 for about $2200.

Seriously, if you can not afford it and have to haggle it down silly, it is not meant for you. This applies to everything.

The G36/UMP/MP7 is overpriced, but try to even find one in any legal civy hands outside of Canada. Yes they are rare (overpriced) even in thes states. If you want to blame the insane prices for HK products, blame HK and their ghey export restrictions.

I also know of a collector who can possibly source me one, but for my lack of budget for Koolaid, I will just play with a ChiCom M4 and be happy with that.

BTW I also find Mercedes over priced :)

After this thread, Im making it a note to make a G36 clone from an SL8 someday.

Time to start saving.

If you have a chance, fire one first before you spend a lot of money and time on doing the conversion. They are not for everyone.

Back to my original post, you are better off making friends than foe on this board and your question might be answered.

So rather than answering my question, you have some BS "make friends not enemies" response. Nice.

And if by "Think outside the retail box and you will get what you can afford" you mean grey or black market goods, that's fine and dandy, but I'm not interested, and I would suggest not talking about illegal activities on the board.

I take issue with implying I am referring to any illegal activity whatsoever. To accuse me of such just because you don't know where or how to source a g36 other than on gunnutz of FN is irresponsible at best. I would ask that you retract your accusation. I have no obligation to answer your question, my lack of obligation does not warrant your comments. This ends all our dialogue, and quickly.

Nothing illegal about importing a semi G36 from Someone who has one for sale... only HK and HK dealers won't sell to civilians... HK because of german laws and dealers because they can't if they want to remain HK dealers.
