I use straight boiling water, then clean as normal. Use a little funnel, only adds minutes to the cleaning routine.
+1.
Flushing the bore with boiling water also loosens powder deposits, so I actually find cleaning FASTER after a boil out!

anyone else reluctent to mix water and guns?
When I'm done shooting, I spray diluted Javex, then Windex, then WD-40, down the barrel. Let it drain out, while I pack up, and take it home. Strip it down, use Hoppes and rags to clean, dry solvent up and apply some WD-40 and put it back together. No rust and always runs right. Takes a long time, so I'm open for options. SKS trigger group has always been a bich to get back in.
