Its a 1907 sling but I don't know what the diff is between the two. Give him a call and he'll go over what you need and if he can do it

Yeah went over it via email. Great guy to deal with so far. Now to wait a year, going to be totally worth it thou!

Cheers

need a different type other than 1907 that attaches to a McMillan folder for my shorty M14 in color tan ... can't find anything ... help???

I had one of their slings that was made for an M14, very nice. I just wish I had an M14 to mount it on, but worked great just the same.

And it comes is Coyote Tan.

I have that very same sling and its quality is top notch for its price . Ive had mine just over 6 or 7 months now and it balances the weight of the rifle perfectly , would definitely make a difference carrying it for hunting purposes or target lol.

That's a good sling and I also hunt with 3 point slings.
However the front attachment is tricky. My understanding of the M14 spec is that the handguard is not supposed to contact the stock. When I squeezed down my handguard with the sling (front loop) I noticed a loss of accuracy.
Also the front loop with velcro was thick enough to get in the way for iron sights with 22" barrel. But that Socom sights seems higher...
Finally I attached it to the gas cylinder. Until I get my M14doc stock with swivel cup on the side...

That's the first thing I thought when looking at these slings wildphil, that it would clamp the handguard down onto the stock. Wasn't sure if it would affect accuracy, but you said it does.
*Also looks like you don't have use of the buttplate, which I love using.
Wonder if a hot barrel would damage the nylon if you attached to the gas cylinder like you mentioned?

The sling looks like a good value, would like to get one.

I guess that would depend on how much you shoot with it. Hunting, no problem. Target practice or 3gun with an M14? Maybe.

Yes, you lose the hinged buttplate.

I got my few Specter slings from Brownells.

For the front sling loop on handguard vs accuracy, I squeezed it tight to get clearance for the iron sights. Someone using an optic could probably let it loose for less effects on accuracy...

Follow up here, I purchased one of these 3 points slings for my M14 and as a left handed shooter it does not work well. The inside strap gets in the way of the charging handle and the front connection is akward in left hand configuration. The more I played around with it, the more I think 2 point sling is the way to go.

My $0.02

Turner Saddlery biothane AWS , Great sling and it was only $ 70 ,I orderd direct from the factory with no problems

...really makes it easy to hold the rifle steady . Hungry highly recommended it and after receiving mine and trying it out I am very impressed.

Les Tam! All others are mass produced wannabes!!!

Last time I was in Hawaii I spent some time with Les and spent the day with him making slings. If you want the best there is no other sling to get. I have 3 of his slings and feel guilty using them. He's getting up there in age and won't be doing this much longer. He even took me to the range (UNREAL!) and trained me on how to sling up the Army way (he sez is the right way LOL) with his NM M1 Garand. He also took out some of his NM M1A which included an early Devine....that was COOL!

Anywho....not that I'm biased or anything but I love my Les Tam slings LOL!

I just spoke with Les and he mentioned you, lol! Anyways, he's super backed up with orders and the wait time is 12 months. He gave me the name of the person he trained and his web site.
