9.3x62

Tikka T3. It always possible to change to a softer recoil pad if you want. I really like these rifles. Mine is a SS model.

Sorry for highjacking your thread with my whine and cheese festival JC.
I have no first hand experience with Tikka's in 9.3x62mm, but those owners who I've talked to about it seemed very happy with their rifles. The Sako's and
Tikka's don't meet the criteria that I'm looking for, but I'm sure they'd perform like most them do: extremely well. I've heard of people with the T3 Battue in
9.3x62 replacing the stock recoil pad, but then it is a very light rifle, so I'm not surprised. Obviously, the 1:14 twist rate is not an issue for you, so you might
also want to consider the Zastava M98 rifle; I know Epps deals in them.

no problem thanks for your input im also looking at these italian rifles from sabbati

Love my Tikka T3 9.3x62. Yep she bucks pretty good. The limbsaver really tamed it down. Very accurate as with all T3.

Well, the last time I was there, admittedly a couple of years ago, I didn't notice any CZ's in the gun case, but I'll give him a call. It sure would be nice
to look at and handle what you're buying prior to forking out the cash. Do you think he'll have a 9.3x62 in stock? It would be a pleasant surprise if he did.

Thanks for the heads up hamhock, I appreciate it.:) I'll keep you posted.

If you ever get a chance to drop by in person, you should, it's like an old time General Store and they carry all kinds of neat stuff. Not the biggest selection
of rifles in the world, last time I was there anyway, but I was surprised they carried any at all. Just a neat old store.:D

The way I see it, the 9.3x62 will do with a 286gn bullet, what a 35 Whelen will do with a 250gn bullet - given the same barrel length. And you'll have the higher Sectional Density and Ballistic Coefficient of the 286gn bullet to help you along. Lots of wallop in a .358 cal bullet, even more so with the .366 cal.

Jc ,358 how ive always dealt with wayne is I know what I want before I call him eg. sights no sights, barrel length, mag cap. 5 in the american safari 375hh,still cant get over that. Call him leave a message if you have to,he always gets back to you, just tell you want price and availability. Sucks you dont get to hold it before you purchase, but if you do your homework ahead of time you pretty well know what youre getting,if you have owned other cz,s. That is also why he is so cheap.Looking at GnA catalogue you have about 3 choices,550 med.battue lux/550 carbine med. kevlar ,550 full stock.all have 20.5 in. barrels. He also sells restricted, and usually takes about a week to get cz rifles.Hope this helps.

Having used, and seen used, both calibers on a lot of really big game over almost 40 years, that is my experience as well.

Very, very, nice rifle. Can you share the price with us?

Ted

Thank you.
Tickling the bottom end of 1G + GST + Shipping and I still need some Scope rings. I'm thinking some Warne 30 mm QDR that will make use of the CZ's
integral mounting system for a 2.5-10x44 Viper PST I have. Know of anyone in Edmonton that handles Warne Rings?

That CZ Lux is one of my all time favourite rifles. I will some day be getting one of those or the CZ FS. 9.3 is the way to go too. Good job. Congrats on the rifle.
Thanks.
The Full Stock was my only other option, but every time I look at all that beautiful wood I wonder if I'd have the courage to take it out of the safe. That
and I wanted to go with the longer barrel for now.

Western gun parts for warne rings, nice looks like my med.lux in 300 wm,price sounds very reasonable, mine was $960.00 after tax.

Its coming from a distributor down east, so it's still got to go through the retailer yet. Ahhh, Western Gun parts, been there a few times.:)
I'll have to call them Monday, thanks for the tip. Ya, it's about $50 more then I would have paid for the Ruger, but at least I'll have it before the snow flies.
