Ok guys, I imagine that the owner is probably a member here, but I am troubled buy this.

Someone has or is in the process of trademarking the C broad arrow.

hmmm. on one hand I admire the entrepreneurial foresight, and on the other, it would be like trademarking the flag.

Wouldn't it be 'not possible to trademark', being public domain for such a long time?
 
...wow, have a browse of the Caina-Longbranch website... a Bosnian company with standing history with the USA, co-opting the hallowed name of Long Branch...AND the C-broad arrow... I'm sure it's nothing personal, just business... but still!
 
The C broad arrow wasn't a trade mark. Hasn't been used for eons either. I'd almost bet the font of the 'C' and the direction and style of the arrow will matter too.
Silly twits only registered the domain name for one year.
 
I don't know how they will handle the c broad arrow mark as it is (was) a Canadian government proof mark. I wonder if the government really cares as anything and everything seems to have a dollar sign attached to it now.

Is the Canadian government or contracted armaments/ordnance companies in Canada still applying the c broad arrow mark to Canadian military equipment ?
 
I wonder what would happen if a surplus rifle so marked with a C /|\ blew up and the owner sued the owner of the trademark....Would present an interesting case. Just my .02 cents worth.
 
Always something new under the Sun. Back in the '80s, some Belgian company actually got a PATENT on the Costen Grenade Launching Cup used on the SMLE in the Great War. The thing had been public domain for half a century!

Poor taste.
