Just wondering where would be a good place to get one of those Maverick 88 8 shot Shotguns...i plan to buy one in the near future and wonder where the best deal would be. Thanks

Thanks Colt i will look into that.. great price! From what i have been reading the reviews look pretty good on these Shotguns.

I also got one from WSS, ordered one online; came in the mail promptly (that was 3 years ago). 18.5" barrel, both - stock and pistol grip included in the package. Pistol grip goes on for gold prospecting trips. Shot both - slugs, and everything else - NO issues whatsoever. Nice, cheap and working gun. I'm keeping it till it dies 200+ years from now.

I'm banned from the EE so haven't seen an add in awhile but I would recommend him to anyone.

The 7+1 20" barrel version usually goes for $265 as the normal price. Usually you won't find any 'super' deals on these and a sale price is all of $30 cheaper. So just buy locally and save the shipping.

These guns are essentially a Mossberg 500 built as cheaply as possible. Main differences:

The arms attach to the fore grip plastic vs. a metal insert in the 500(some reports of 500's doing this as well).

Parts made in Mexico and assembled in the US vs. 100% made in the US.

Crossbar safety vs. tang safety.

No drilling and tapping on receiver.

Plastic stock only.

I was doing some reading and from what i can tell the Mavericks are pretty much a watered down Mossberg 500 but i haven t read a bad thing about them yet i think i may order one from Frontier Firearms they have free shipping to Halifax....Thanks for the replies.
