Hello,

I am interested in finding out the production amounts per year of production, approximately, of the Sestroryetsk factory circa 1892-1918.

Where can I find such information, if it exists?

mosinnagant.net says approx 621k rifles were made.

i would assume that production was highest in 1905, 1915 -17.

Drachenblut, you might want to post this question on Gunboards in the Collector's forum. Karl-Heinz Wrobel hangs there.

I think Sestroryetsk had the second lowest production total of all the Mosin M91 makers. Tough to say how many were made per year, I'm sure the records, similar to my German WW1 stuff, are long gone.

I would have to agree with Nabs. Probably lost during WW2 with the move and all.

Say Nabs - how's Flight School? I've ordered Dieter Storz's book.

Flight school hasn't started yet but that is 1.5 months away and I can't wait. Thanks for asking.

As for Storz's book, you will not regret a single penny. Storz is currently putting his finishing touches on a similar book that will focus on the Commission rifle and I am just counting the days until that comes out. The information he is able to dig out of the Bavarian archives is just mind blowing.

I warn you though, when you get Storz's book dealing with Gewehr 98s and Kar 98s you will *want* (need ?) to buy a whole bunch just to compare to his information.

Now, if only there was a book like Storzs' for Mosins...

One thing I must do in the near future, before flying school, is update my post on the "Thinking about a Gewehr 98" thread as I have some new arrivals to fill the gaps.

Sestroryetsk was closed in 1917/18, because of the start of the Revolution in St-Peterburgs and after it was used to produce radios. I doubt very much any records survived. I know that Vic of Gunboards was almost shot when he tried to visit the ruins of the old radio factory.

Drachenblut another forum to post this question in is the 7.62x54r forum. Never been myself but I hear its where the serious Mosin collectors hang.

There's a big discussion going on GB right now about its friendliness though. You might want to tread lightly.
