Anyone looking for a Mres Leg by chance?

My friend just bought a Henry mares leg in .45 LC, I got to fire a few rounds through it, it was fun. I wouldn't personally drop $1000 on one, but if I could find a mares leg for half that price I might be interested.

Can't really see any practical purpose for those things, other then a conversation piece, or plinking at the range; although it doesn't look like it
would be very good at plinking either. There is the .22 cal in the $300 - $400 range, which is a little more reasonable and better suited for its purpose, but I
can think of a lot of things I'd rather spend $400 on.

I'm sorry, but one look at those things and you've gotta know that accuracy is not their strong suit and the last thing I want is some putz at sigforum (your link
is broken by the way) telling me why I need such a thing. I can think of 1000 other rifles I'd rather spend $1000 on. But hey, that's just me, if you think it's
the cat's meow then by all means get yourself one and go have a blast with it. I'd rather save that money for something I'd find more interesting.

You are aware that in Canada we can put a full length but stock on these guns without changing their classification right?

The "putz" seems like a really down to earth hands on practical guy to me. Maybe you should read the tread before you pass judgment? I don't think the "putz" actually tells anyone what they need but more shows what works for him...
As far as accuracy goes the with the home made folder that the "putz" built for his trapper the accuracy would be on par with any other winchester 94 trapper in .44mag.
The link(cold copy and paste required) works fine for me and I just kind of stumbled on it looking for something else so I cant really say how stupid the the other discussions are on the sig forum or how stupid the members are because I honestly don't know....

The post on the sig forum is a pretty good read or at least I found it interesting but I like short lever actions.

I got a Rossi Hand rifle in 44 mag from Wantsall and i paid 640.00 deliver to my door, those little gun are worth every penny as they are so much fun to shoot and accuracy wise at 50 metres open sights off hand i shoot in the 2 inch mark, i really like it ,as soon they will get it it in 357 mag and 45 LC i will get one of each as well... JP.
