Ncstar m14 scope mount

Anyone have any experience with this scope mount? Will it maintain a zero?

Mine held a zero, but really trick to install, as I had to make my own cam washer. After two months I pulled it off (to replace bolt) and will NOT reinstall.

The thing was already rusting out. The piece used to replace the strip-clip was a solid chunk of some kind of rusting bulk.

Buy a better one, skip this pile (and weighty) of junk.

I used to have an UTG one on my 09' Poly M305 for test at a couple range trips. It holds zero just fine for casual shooting. Then I've got an ARMS #18 mount to try, it's rock solid

Is it just me, or does the mount not mate properly with the grooves on the rifle?

I had a hell of a time getting it to fit into the stripper clip groove. Gonna shoot it tomorrow see how it does. I definitly don't like how high the scope sits.

If there is some one in Canada that has ever had or still has anything to with M14 gear it's I <3 M14 & if he says don't waste your money I wouldn't. On a side note those Pro Mag 1's from MysticPrecision sure do a great job for the money.

i have a promag(arms clone) mount, mine has worked perfectly with 1000 rounds through the rifle..

the AIM Sports scope mounts for the M305 ripped off the raised aluminum that fits in the groove in 5 shots, they are garbage as well

Well I'll be replacing it, it was the only one they had at the shop where I bought my scope. 40$ I figured why not, but wasn't expecting great things. So Arms or mcann? Can I go wrong with either?

If you are looking at Arms...I think the Promag HD steel mount is an ARMS 18 knock-off.

The only issue I had with the ARMS is the length of the rail, too short. It made my scopes too far forward, and my Hi-Lux scope would not fit on it all. It may be fine for you. The McCann's is cheaper price, and available. Got it right away. The ARMS took 3 months.

Leatherwood also makes a mount, it's two parts. Havn't tried it yet, yet to arrive.
