I e-mailed Prophet River late last Saturday afternoon (the 9th) inquiring about the "american classic" 22s....I figured for $300 (incl. taxes & shipping) I couldn't afford not to buy one...To my surprise Clay responded within about 1/2 hour...I gave him the information....

Tuesday I got a phone call from a young lady saying they'd shipped my pistol.
Today (Friday) it arrived at my door.
Tough to beat that.

This one?

Our current website doesn't have a category for handguns as it is a new area for us. We will be launching a new website very soon that will have 100% of our current stock listed. We were hoping to launch the site over a month ago but are experiencing problems with setting up online firearm sales with a shopping cart. Look for something soon however.

Interesting pistol, nice price.

Hmmm...

I see it has an alloy frame, steel slide. No plastic anywhere I presume?

It also looks like there is no grip safety, which wouldn't really matter I suppose, most .22 autos don't have one...

Yah.... The gsg at 80 bucks more is a far better pistol (in my opinion)..... Shot one of these and was not impressed with mags or trigger...

Valid points...

After two trips to the range, and about 450 rounds down the pipe, here are my impressions (although I'm no expert, by any means)

*The price
*Comes with two mags (yes, they are plastic mags, but they are fairly robust.
*Quite accurate (although I don't fancy the thought of 'filing down' the front sight any time soon)
*Getting more reliable--this was my biggest worry.
-after the initial break-in, it's settling nicely. The second trip to the range, out of about 250 rounds, I had maybe 3 stovepipes, and one failure to extract. I think it pays to take a few extra seconds to load the magazines properly.

Dislikes:
*Rather crude appearance (although for the price, I had no illusions)
*Plastic grips (kinda cheesy looking, there's no way around it)
*VERY stiff trigger, (but started getting better after the first couple hundred rounds--hopefully this trend will continue.)

Overall, although it's still early days, I'm pretty pleased with the purchase. Like I said initially, for $300 all-in, it's a pretty good deal.
