Just wondering if anyone might know where I might find a c-11 or equivalent for sale in Canada. Just curious really trying to get an idea how much one would run me. More then I can afford :( but I just wanted to get an idea.

IIRC the C11 is either an RPA Quad-lite chambered in 5.56 NATO, or a Sportco in the same caliber. The only rifle I see cadets using for competition is the C12, which is an RPA Quadlock. I believe some are in McMillan stocks but the one used by the Cadet NRT that attends Bisley are in Robertson Stocks (very fancy Red and white with red maple leafs.
I believe Paul Reiben at Range Sports Unlimited in Kamloops is the Canadian Dist for RPA.
A full blown RPA target rifle will run between $4000-$5000 depending on what sights, iris', eagle eye. etc you put on it.

Okay so in that case any idea of something cheaper to get my daughter started in centerfire that would be a good fit. I bought her the daisy cadet already but the 4k is not in my personal budget

Norinco M4 is a good start.

I think the OP is looking for a Target Rifle used to shoot targets out to 1000 yards/900m with iron sights. Google "Palma Rifle".;)

To CompBoy,
One of the biggest problems with the Cadet fullbore program is that after cadets participate in the program, it is ingrained in them that they need that type of rifle to get started. Simply not true.

There are used Target Rifles out there. I would not point them in the directions of an old converted #4 or Parker-Hale, but from time to time target rifles do come up on the EE. A used Musgrave, Swing or even a good Sportco would be ones to look at. Another route might be a new Savage Palma rifle.

PM to follow.

If she's mechanical, you and her could build it together!
Have a look at MysticPrecision's post on his "1-mile .223"
Or really any of his Savage/Stevens based rifles, then just pop over to Sinclair International to have a look at the "iron" sights that you'll be mounting instead of a scope.

And you'll have her shooting TR in no time at all.

I visited Pual yesterday. I believe Paul Reiben P17 and musgrave on hand. P17 is a cheaper alternative, musgrave will get you all the way to bisley and back.

Argue your killing me here I really don't have $800 right now. That and I don't know where she's going on thsi one she might not get into the higher level right now she's middle of the pack and I'm pretty sure she has to do another year of the Basic level before full bore kicks in.

If she did good enough she can go straight from basic to full bore. If she is accepted into full bore one based on her scores in basic marksman she would've been told at the end of the course. If not, she still has a chance if she joins her corp's shooting team and makes it far in regional, provincial, and then maybe national competitions.

If she does not make it to full bore she can go to ARMI, or Air Rifle Marksmanship Instructor, which teaches more air rifle marksmanship, setting up a range and range control, and some other stuff.

Hope I helped and sorry for the necro post,
Drew

Actually they told her to go for the cadet instructor course next year which suits her so I guess dad will just have to wait on getting that oh well still another one to run through the program lol.

Of course, she could get involved with the TR program of the ORA, independent from the Cadet program.
C11 is 5.56, C12 is .308. While .223 is accepted for TR, I cannot think of anyone shooting .223 in TR. Some F Class.
A used TR might be the way to go. Experienced rifles do show up, as shooters retire. Might not be state of the art, but still good rifles with lots of milage left in them.
Or, one of the various .308 or .223 quick twist varmint type rifles, fitted with a Central rear, PH front and a handstop rail would work as an introductory rifle, and not be too expensive.
