It is hard to tell as there have not been any new AR10 in the recent years. You cannot really ask too much becasue LMT MWS with SS barrel is available at about 3600 bucks now, which is a much better system. Back then I think they are 2400 dollars rifles - so you can do some adjustment. you are better off separating the scope from the rifle. Also, if you have multiple magazines for the rifle it will also help the sale. The bane of AR10 is the availability of reliable magazines - which makes it not so competitive against the new 308 using SR25 system, where reliable PMags are abundant and cheap.

Yup the LMT rifles do limit the value of the Armalites. that being said there's still something about the Armalites that I really like.

Magazines aren't that hard to get right now. Even if the company stopped making them it would be possible for another company to modify M14 mags. The current 3rd generation AR10 mags aren't bad at all. While I do prefer the DPMS/original AR10/SR25 etc pattern mags. I don't mind this last generation mag. The earlier ones were pretty crude. These new ones are fairly close to the DPMS ones. I suspect the criticism of the AR10 mags was due to earlier generations. DPMS had this same issue when they first had polymer mags which didn't work. It took a long time for the reports of bad reliability to settle down even after the new mags had been out for a few years.

Pmags are cheaper. But... for the AR10 platform most are set up as DM rifles. If you're someone not using it as a DM rifle then the cost of the mags becomes a non issue compared to the price of mag dumping 308 ammo.

One other thing if it's one of the DND Armalites. I wouldn't trade it for a SR25 and all the mags in the world. ;)

I have an Armalite AR-10. It is a Dutch contract converted full auto. Looks like a AR-15 training aid (big).

Are we talking about the same rifle here. Mine is very nice to shoot and the mags (waffle pattern) work just fine.

No and I'm now very envious. :p

The original AR10 (the one you have) used the same mags that the DPMS, SR25, LMT etc now use. The current AR10 uses a modified M14 style due to the American Assault rifle ban. The idea was they could modify the very easy to obtain M14 mags for their firearm. This way they wouldn't have to provide limited mags and could continue to provide regular magazine capacities with their firearms.

I use the M14 type mags in mine, and have never had a single ftf. My friend sat beside me at the range with his DPMS and couldn't go thru a single mag without problems, and he had a half dozen mags.

I've used both and haven't had any issues with either one.

The main issue for Armalite right now has been the popularity of the AR 308 in the last few years. There wasn't much competition. Today only Armalite and Noveske use the M14 style. While DPMS/Remington which probably has the highest sales, KAC, LMT (starting to wonder if LMT and KAC are the same company just different branding and features), POF and I believe PWS use the original style mags. Then you have Mega the Swizerland of the AR 308. It uses either depending on the internals you use.

It really doesn't matter to me. With the Armalite system there will always be mags around although they might need to be modified.

One other comment Id like to make. We hear a lot about the KAC and LMT current military use. One other company has had their AR10 in the sandbox too. That's Armalite.

LOL Sound like a typical CGN offer... Too many f**k tards on here. But the same ones also end up at the gun shows....

I think you just outted yourself with your own post.

You've obviously missed the sarcasm. Though I do think my offer was more than fair for the imaginary gun, you know the one that this "person" can't even spell the name of.
