i shoot the czech surplus 308 from my m14 all the time, being corrosive i clean it after each range outing so don't notice really how dirlty it is, the barrel and gas system comes clean without any major issues.....
And yet I wonder why I even speak???Just got home from a range day. After zeroing in at 100m with my new m305 I was getting a 2 to 2.5 inch solid groupings with Winchester 150 grs. Two boxes of Winchester later I picked up a single box of MFS and noticed it grouping 4-5 inches at 100m. That's quite a huge jump considering that 5 moa at 300m is 15". Maybe fine for hunting, but definitely not for target shooting. Now I'm left with the painful task of cleaning out carbon baked onto the gas assembly.
And yet I wonder why I even speak???
Brake clean will be your friend in this task plus dip some laquer thinner on your brass brush and make sure to scrub the front face of the bolt to get rid of that red cr@p.
