hi guys, wondering if anyone knows of or themselves have a flintlock long rifle of decent quality they would trade, im in market to get one, but dont see a whole lots advertised, maybe you know dealers that have them that would be interested in guns i have,

anybody that could help would be great, im looking primarily for a kentucky or
musket style flintlock,

thanks to anyone who has some insight

I have a traditions .50 pennslyvannia rifle i ordered online out of the states. Im very happy with it. You might want to try a militaryheritage.com or loyalist arms they have a wide selection.

Also look at trackofthewolf.com they are out of the states and can ship flinters up here without much fuss. They are really great to deal with.

i know blair at loyalist has some kits, i actually have one of his guns commiing to me in trade as we speak, from a friend on here, its the french fusil de chasse smoothbore 62 cal, but id like a rifled long gun as well, i have some nice shotguns and a leupold scope id trade for one

Hmm try ellwood epps they have quite a selection and may entertain trades.

X2 Try Epps, make sure your new flinter has a good lock, cheap locks can turn into poor sparkers.
Let us know when you get one and I'll run you through on how to speed up the ignition :)
Cheers nessy

I have one that sometimes has problems igniting, i now use ffffg in the pan and that seems to help. Although sometimes she is a little picky. I think a larger touch hole would help with that quite a bit.

If you're interested in getting a flint longrifle, keep your eye on Track of the Wolf's website. They have quality longrifles for sale on a regular basis and have no problem shipping to Canada. Another plus is that the Canadian dollar is high right now.I recently bought a .45 Tennesee flint longrifle from them and it took less than two weeks to arrive.Be prepared, however, to spend at least 1100.00 with shipping and taxes.
