Picked up another rifle

Who knows, it may become 'available'. Two is definately above the one I 'need':p.

Keep in mind, there is a 'key' of need, that being a Schultz & Larsen, in 358 Norma Magnum.

I have not forgotten...........:)
Hayya Johnn, that moosie moosie medallion.
What's it made of?
Didn't you at one time say it was a target?
I see the DrAche has put up a site that is pretty near here.
May have to go for a road trip and see what other plaques
he has up there.
Then I can put one by my pick up sticks in photos.
We'll drive'm Nutzzs.............:p

Hi Luke;

:)Appreciate you keeping an eye out for a Schultz in 358NM for me. When I do 'find' and acquire one, :redface:I may still keep the Husqvarna I have in that caliber. If I can have a pair of 270's, why not a pair of 358's:p.

Back to my;)infamous/contraversial 'moosie medallion', which again goverened by my preference for Moose was a gift, best I can do for you is from the info sticker on the back:

Trivet by BOMA
These beautiful handcrafted trivets are made from recycled glass
and are heat resistant to 340F / 170C. Not suitable for exposure to
direct heat sources.
100% Canadian Made
There you go:).

I think I should git me one of those and find a chain for it.
Hang it around my Bullwinkle guarding the front door.
A moose necklace on a moose head mount.
Whoddathought?
I may be onto something BIG here.............:)

Go for it:). Mr. Moose has always been special for me. It was my first big game animal and is still my favorite. This is reflected by items like the infamous trivet and even the stuffed Moose animals in my den for the Granddaughters to play with on their visits.

There's other Moose 'memorabilia' in my den, in addition to Moose 'parts' spending the winter in our deepfreeze and some recycled 'head gear' used for clothing hangers and rifle racks at my cabin in the interior. The following is from a trip to the cabin a few years ago and actually, the guy on the far left in the gray 'west coast cashmere' is the guy that used to own the Sako 270 you like.

So I finally got out to the range. Damn it was hot though. Between sweating, shaking, and the heat waves for the life of me I couldn't sight my rifle in. After about 10 rounds I went and bought a bottle of water and sipped it in the shade. After that I went back and sighted my rifle in properly.

The most annoying thing was I set up two targets at 125m. I used one while sighting my rifle and the other was to test for grouping. I took 4 shots at my target when I noticed holes appearing in my target. The bastard beside me was shooting MY target! I called a cease fire and went and tore down both my targets. The guy beside me couldn't for the life of him understand why I took down both targets.

Anyways here's the pics:

Got a cheap Tasco 6-24 Varmint Scope for now. A Vortex will be replacing it asap. The two racks of casings and the four individual casings are covering up the bullet holes left by the guy and his SKS after I had fired my four rounds (my last four shots).

I really like this .270! Decent enough recoil and shoots straight as a laser it seems.

Yes I know my calipers aren't centered on the bottom bullet hole. Didn't realize it until I got home.

Here's the measurement though. So add a few millimeters :p

Along the lines of the shooting when you were shooting, and the 'assisted' results, my Dad had an expression for situations similar to that. "My friends the b**tards!!"

Were those loads you worked up to? Anyway, at 125m's, looks like pretty decent shooting to me.

The pair of 270's in post #4, basically all I've really done so far is run through some factory ammo I got with them, just to make sure they go 'bang'. With the Husqvarna, I got a 3-9 Redfield that I'm having 'difficulties' with the horizontal adjustment. The Sako came with a 3-9 Simons wide angle. Not my preference for a scope but from what little I've tried it so far, it seems to be okay so I'll leave it as is, for the time being anyway.

Man, you're smoooooth.
You covered your shots and left his and claimed them fer yerself. :)
Makes you wonder what the hell people are doing sometimes.
Did he figured you left them for him?
One would think they could of at least ask?
Looks like you're on your way to a tack driver with this one.
Cheers.

Either that of he was such a bad shot that he was totally missing whatever he might have been aiming at and just happened to shoot my target.

Any chance the arse with the SKS had a British accent?

Also .............. what the hell were you doing shopping at CG? :p

I never noticed any British Accent, why?

As for shopping at CG, I went in there just looking at guns and noticed one cheap enough to buy :D

There was a Brit up there a few months ago showing off his "Sniper" SKS to 2 of his buddies. He shot the baffles all to hell and hit everything other than the target he was aiming at. What he lacked in accuracy he made up for in rate of fire ....................

Haven't met him luckily.

Sad to say it's stupid people with SKS that causes ranges to enact rules that effect other people. Single round at a time or crap like that.

Two I remember at the time were an elderly guy who came down to the rimfire range as I was reloading mags for my .22 and fired off a couple rounds like a very loud centerfire rifle while my hearing protection was off. No warning just fired off three rounds, picked up his brass, and left.

Another was this Asian guy who was decked out in a bullet proof vest that said POLICE on the back, drop leg holster, duty belt (including cuffs, baton, and OC Sprat), and a badge. He was practicing quick draws and double taps then got into an SUV and left. Plate was from Alberta.
