So....thinking about a new production Div Gun....what is your poison?

Any pros/cons would be appreciated. Price/Parts/Reliability/Warranty/Service.....etc.,etc.

I am leaning towards either the Shadow or Stock 3 due to cost!

Would also like to be able to use the gun for IDPA....I know the shadow can be made to make weight, not sure about the Stock 3.

Parts and options (grips, magazines, sights) are unbeatable for Shadow. Though it does like bit higher PF, with 147gr bullet it runs reliably at 135PF or higher. There is several triggers differently curved and I like the less curved one, but it seem like all new ones arew coming with the most curved one.

On Tanfoglio Stock II double action pull is not as nice compared to CZ, but Tanfoglio is a bit heavier on the barrel, so absorbs recoil tiny bit better. Tanfoglio has nice long beaver tail, but unfortunately its frame doesn't fit my hand, they have that space on the frame just under the beaver tail.

All in all I am running two CZs and like them.

stock 3 seems like a good gun. I have seen two that have been used and the shooters who owned them liked them. The appear to be as reliable as the stock2 or better. I can not speak to IDPA,..but I would just get a different gun for IDPA. FOr and IDPA gun, or CDP, etc..I would use my HK P30-L-S.

Not sure how reliable the Stocks are, but the CZs can go through slide stops.
I made mine weight compliant for IDPA with grips and had to cut out some material out of the rear sight. To be honest though, I use other gun predominantly in IDPA.

If I were purchasing just one gun for both IPSC & IDPA, I would get a CZ85 combat. So I vote 'other'.

Glocks are fugly. You know, a cross between ugly & funny looking :stirthepot2:.

"Hello my friend,

I don't always shoot Production but when I do I shoot an SP01.

Shoot straight my friends."

The most interesting IPSC shooter in the world. (ok ok maybe southern Alberta)

X2

I removed the Glock comment as I do like to shoot either my Glock 17 or 35 in IDPA but less so in IPSC where the CZ 85 C is the first choice.

I'm just messing with Glock owners, all in good fun.

No worries! I prefer to shoot a heavier gun like the CZ 85 C in IPSC Production as most other shooters are using Shadows anyway.

In IDPA SSP, most shooters are using Glocks so I do too as I am not giving up anything in terms of weight of the gun. But I do occasionally use the CZ 82 C in IDPA to change things up.
