Hey folks, I just got myself a 10 FCP-K and now I need a scope...

Im looking at Vortex Viper PST 6-24x50 FFP . Ive never used a scope that cost more then 200$ before so I need some imput from you guys...

This will be my Hunting riffle, But I also want to use it to try out long range shotting...

thanks for the help

Depending on how long range you want to go, you need a scope with lots of elevation travel, you may also consider a 20 MOA rail to put under that scope if you want to go longer ranges (500 + yards). Spend the money, $400 + is not a lot when you consider the cost of a missed shot on your hunting trip. Vortex is getting good reviews and for the money they have a lot of good features. Some scopes run upwards of $3000, which I can't afford but would love to have.

I just checked Bushnell's web site and it appears they are changing their line, but I would look at their 4200's. I have a 6X24 40mm 4200 and as far as I could tell it was the best for under $500 and the best I could afford. That's where I would start. If you pockets are deep though...

Just took a look at the Vortex line up again. They do look like nice scopes. I'll have to see if they have any in stock at Epps next time I'm there. Some things I just can't bring myself to buy without having it in my hands. Ohh for a bank account with a large number and a + in the balance line.
