In the beginning, there was some talk from people slagging Vault for the exhorbant price of the RFB's they were bringing in.

Some other talk from people in the States of magical numbers like $800.00 and such. Nothing proven though and most dealers there laugh at figures like that.

Vault brings them in and sells them to authorised distributers (6 right now, IIRC). These dealers have agreed to hold the line, thus far, at $2399.00 CAD.

Compare this, to the "Red Sticker Sale Price" shown in the photos below. This RFB was photoed at a Michigan Gun Show this past weekend.

I have mine, and am not going to grouse one bit about the +\- $ 400 CAD that I had to pay have Vault do all the leg work, paperwork, FRT approvals, etc and bring these to Canada.

My hat's off to Steve at Vault and all the Canadian Kel Tec distribution network for holding the line on these for us.

The grass is really no greener on the other side.

Didn't bother me or Epoxy7 to hand over our $2399. In fact we couldn't do it fast enough. $400 to cross the 49th/suppliers/dealers hands isn't too bad in my books.
 
Well lets look at it this way...

They had to restamp it 308.. Then they had to put a diffrent barrel in it no flash hider ect. That costs money..
 
No complaints here either. Sold some gear I wasn't using and I was out of pocket zero extra. The question is where do I come up with 15 large to get one of the new lynx 50 caliber gopher rifles. ;-)
 
They had to restamp it .308 so it would be classified as a sporting rifle? I'm guessing this was to get around some kind of export rules?

Well, they had to change the barrels out for a longer canadian version to meet our non restricted requirements and as well had to stam .308 because the USDOS wont let anyone export anything stamped in a military caliber unless its foreign military or law enforcement sales as far as im aware. As well I believe USDOS wont allow exports of firearms with folding stocks or flash hiders.
 
once i pay for a few other things, the rfb will be top of my list to buy, it will go nicely with my tavor.
 
$1999, wow. That is quite expensive.

The place I check has them for $1200 and it an actual store.

You see one price at a show? and use that to justify a 100% mark-up?

Great little Rifle, I will have one...someday. But not at current prices (with our dollar rocking it like it has).

I bought mine back in Jan 2011 and paid $1450 including the Governor's share, $800 paid recently for an AAC Cyclone suppressor, and $200 to ATF for the transfer stamp. Now waiting for the paperwork to clear on the suppressor.

Yep...rub it in ;). My buddies down south remind me all the time about the RFB price difference. It can be had fairly cheaply down there (when you can find it)...however, I can't import it myself so am stuck paying what is asked. I'd rather pay less but I'm not going to complain about it. I get to smile at them about my Norc M305 that can shoot just as well as their M1A's...I know it's not an accurate comparison but it still gets them frowning about it :D.

Often they don't have them in stock. You can "preorder" them at that price and wait for eternity. The rare times they have been sold for that price, they sold almost instantly.

This is a hard to get rifle, even in the States. The fact that we have them in Canada is great. The price, well it's not bad considering the lack of supply and what's required to get them here.

I watched this rifle for years before it finally arrived. The Canadian price isn't that bad under the circumstances.
