Just got back from Dlask this morning and got my Remington 5R back for some work. I asked Joe to install his bolt knob and some other stuff. So, just want to see if anyone would like to have one. I am not sure if this was posted here before, so here it is.......

Hmmm ... can't find on his website.

What's it threaded and how much did it cost?

threaded. cost $95 (parts and installation). shipping and taxes extra. just call dlask arms if it's not in the website. i happened to just drop by last week with my R5 and joe got the bolt knob out for me to check. i liked it, so i got one.

yes, it was more comfortable for me. i am sure others would have their way of personalizing there rifles to suit what they feel is comfortable.

Isn't that the great part about customizing a rifle? The fact that you CAN make these sorts of changes to make the rifle fit the shooter rather than having to have the shooter adapt to the rifle.

That is why we have you Rick. Joe and the other reputable smith's (including yourself)are the one's that makes our "toys" fit us well. The best part of custom building is really also to make us enjoy our hobby. And us customer's shouldn't also be shy in footing out the cash to make it all work. Bottom line is we get what we pay for. And expect the best product coming out from the best in the field of gunsmiths here in Canada.

Nice rifle. How does it shoot out to 1000 yards if you don't mind me asking? What grain bullets do you use for long distance with the short barrel? Thanks for entertaining my questions!

Great rig! I also have a Dlask knob on my 700P and he is a great machinist!

BTW - what scope are you running on your rig?

Robbs,

Sorry, but I just got this a few days ago and have not yet the time to go and shoot. It will be next month before I could get time out for my next holiday schedule at work. Our range is only at 100m, but I do plan to be out in the boonies with a friend and perhaps try the 1000m mark. Though, I would not expect much since this project was for shooting under 500m if ever. I have some FGMM 168 grains here with me and that would be the load until I can get my reloading set up again. I have some 200 Lapua brass 308 with me and that's it for now. Still looking at the EE from time to time. Will PM you next time Robbs.
