What reason is there to buy a tactical .22?

I have a 10/22 which I am not interested in modding. I am looking for another .22 for grouse, squirrels and for having some fun plinking.

The fun side of me says go tacticool such as a vtr, the other side of me says I can get a accurate, all be it less "cool", .22 for half, sometimes 1/3rd the price.

Is it an accuracy issue, or the ability to add different mods, etc that make tactical firearms "more desirable" then a regular firearm to some people?
 
just for the fun really, if you want accuracy go with a bolt .22 like a markII or the likes..
iff you wanna blast of rounds down range at plinker targets and the likes, the tacticool side just adds a bit more fun... with the red dots, reflex sites, etc and so on, u can have all the cool of somthing like an ar-15 with ammo that costs 30 bucks to shoot all day

If i were looking for a rodent gun I would stick with a regular stock semi or bolt action. Less likely to get hung up on stuff when walking through the bush and probably more accurate out of the box keeping the cost down.
If you can not decide...get both.
 
For me it is a matter of training. I compete in the CHAS Tri-Gun League and the ability to get a lot of trigger time practicing the principles of marksmanship while moving about taking cover and doing all the other things that I need to do for my competition. Practice, practice, practice is what I advocate and when a brick of 22's are $30 versus a box of 223 for $300, the choice is an easy one.

I have a Mossy Tact 22 and it's all about the fun factor. Sub $300 to buy, 25 round mags, a cheap red-dot and ammo at 20 bucks a brick = good day at the range with very small dent in the wallet. :50cal::D

Yeah I think I'll be buying a mossy next, they look pretty fun. They are plenty affordable as well.

I don't really like the forend/hand guard but maybe I can replace it with something else.

I prefer M16a1 style the best.
 
It basically comes down to one thing... WANT

We (as Men/Women) do not need reasons to justify our toys. A Tactical 22 is a fun to shoot, cheap to feed plinker that costs just pennies a shot.

Now, If you get yourself something that duplicates a full-size MSR (Modern Sporting Rifle - AKA AR15) you have something that you can practice on, teach others with or just plain shoot without the worry of going bankrupt after a full day of shooting.

Now with that said.... why get just one when you can get two!!!

I couldn't think of a better way to get my "Better-half" into the sport then to buy her a toy as well!
