Another cooey extractor issue...

my cooey 82's extractor (my first cooey no less) does not want to grab the empties. It will catch the rim if i push it toward the case but not otherwise.

there seems to be an excessive ammount of play where the stem of the extractor enters the bolt handle... so, i was thinking of removing the extractor and either shimming the stem or putting a slight bend in the spring steel.

Any thoughts? are the extractors tricky to... extract? from the bolt? is trying to bend it futile? how much do replacements cost, and even then, is it more likely that the hole in the bolt handle is worn and not the extractor?

I know from old posts this is a common issue with cooeys so i am hopefull someone can clarify things a bit before i tear into it.

...Fixed it. popped it out and put a very gentle kink in it. We'll see how long it holds up. spits the cases out now though so im happy! :) and $hit, it's a triple broadarrow M82... why would i not be happy!

Alright, no time to set up the studio... but heres a couple from the front porch. kids mess in the background and all.

He also sent me a true cooey rear peep sight, but this gun in particular didn't have one originally so im going to put it on my 75. He also shipped it in a browning gun case at no extra charge! lucky me!!

Congrats on the 82--fine looking gun. But the 75 does not have the flat cut out on the receiver for the peep sight. The 78 does.

Funny i hadn't noticed that... but not too hard to figure out why considering it's probably still en-route east of the rockies somewhere. the pics are tough to see that much detail.

I may still give it a flat on the receiver and tap it to accept the peepsight... we'll see. I'll put it on whichever gun shoots better i guess, if there is much difference.
