Howdy folks:
Just thought I'd post a picture of my latest little darlings.
The top is a CZ 550 Lux in 9.3x62mm with a Viper PST 2.5-10x44 mrad scope (SFP).
Below is a Tikka T3 in 6.5x55mm with a Viper PST 4-16x50 mrad scope (SFP).
I haven't had a chance to get to the range yet, but I do know I'm really impressed with the triggers on both of these rifles. I'm going to upgrade the
front post on the CZ to a fibre tube (already ordered) to make the iron sights a little easier to use. Hopefully I'll get out to the range soon for a
sight in/shoot in session (I hate the shoot in session part of it) and look forward to seeing how well I can do at various ranges using some factory
ammo I picked up. Then I've got some loads I want to try out, but that probably won't happen until my next visit to the range.;)

Nice, my Tikka T3 Hunter in 6.5x55 loves Norma Alaskan, Vulkan and Oryx 156gr ammo. I want a Laminate. Good Luck

Thanks. I picked up some Nosler 140gn accubonds with a listed MV of 2650 fps for $35 a box; considering they wanted $60 for 50 Nosler brass, I thought
it was a good deal for the ammo. If I come across some Norma cartridges at a decent price, I'll definitely give them a try.

Thanks people.
My plan is to develop a good accuracy load for each rifle and then stick with those loads until I have mastered them. In other words, if the equipment is
sound, then it is up to me to live up to the equipments potential. Easier said then done, right.:) At one load per rifle, the term "General Purpose" would best
describe the type of bullet I'll need. For the 9.3mm I have some 285gn PRVI's and some 286gn Hornady Interlocks to start playing with, although I've heard
(on this site) that the Interlocks ain't what they used to be and might be a little soft for larger game. Which is too bad since the Interlocks have a fairly
respectable BC. So I'll probably focus on developing a good load with the PRVI's.

With the 6.5x55, I've been thinking that a bullet in the 120gn to 130gn range would make for a good general purpose round and, to that end, I've
picked up some 129gn Hornady SST's and Interlocks and some Nosler 130gn Accubond's. Although, there is a lot out there to choose from
when it comes to the 6.5mm, so I'm sure I'll be looking at a few of the others as well. By the looks of it, I'll be at load development for some time;
I just wish I lived closer to the range.:D

Does the stock on the CZ line your eye up with the scope? I thought that type of stock lined your eye up with the iron sights and getting a good cheek weld to see through the scope was difficult?

Second Focal Plane? Does that mean the reticle stays the same size no matter what magnification you have it at?

Very nice rifles. I'm still looking for something for moose season.

i d love to see a soft bullet failure for the 9,3x62 or 74r ... the interlock will work perfectly as any bullet made for the 9,3s .... i prefer the accubond 250 or partition 286 but the interbond will work without issue ..
all the best.

For the 6.5x55, the 125gr partition seems like the perfect all around bullet, but for my 6.5 Tikka T3 Hunter it shoots ~1.5moa, whereas I can get both the 129SST and the 130 Accubond to shoot 0.8 - 1.0 MOA

I've pretty much settled on the 129sst for my shooting, since it'll be called on mostly for deer and maybe the odd coyote.

Interested in the answer to this also. I been wanting a 550 for a while. I tried one out at the range and it shot real well, and the set trigger is great to have while shooting at the range.

Very nice rifles. I'm still looking for something for moose season.

The height of the scope seems just fine and I have the high Warne rings on it (which I was a little concerned about). I do find the scope is a little forward,
but I've got about another 1/2 inch to play with, so I should be alright there as well. And yes, with Second Focal Plane the retical remains the same throughout
the magnifications; which is the way I like it. I should also say that the 2.5-10x44 Viper PST only comes in Second Focal Plane.

I'm actually quite surprised nobody has commented on the 2.5-10x44 being too much scope for the 9.3x62 - I really did expect to catch some flak about it.
I do have a Bushnell 2-7x32 3200 Elite, but it's hard to give up the big bright sight picture and the beautiful reticle of the Vortex for a mere 6 oz.
savings in weight and a lot less clarity and power.
