Does anybody know of a store that sells Anschutz rifles in Ontario? I've only managed to find one that specializes in Olympic-style competition rifles (which I don't like the look of and am not interested in).

If there are no stores in Ontario, are there any in Canada?

I'll continue my search, but thanks in advance to any who may answer.

Try North Sylva and ask for Peter Kraus. I believe he can order anything you want.

North Sylva are a distributor not a retailer, they can suggested a store to purchase from. Most gun shops deal with North Sylva.

To the people who answered so far -- thanks. Hmm...looks like I may have to buy one the next time I'm in the US.

Unless their policy has changed, NorthSylva-Peter Krause works for, do sell direct. He is excellent to deal with.

Read the first thread in the North Sylva forum.

They may have sold retail in the past biut their current policy is to sell through firearms dealers.

What is with the Bzzzz ?

That's simply not true for the Aschutz line that OP is asking about. Go to the Target Shooting Products website which sells to the public and you'll find that it is located at the same address as North Sylva. Peter is the guy that handles the Anschutz line and will source almost any Anshutz rifle as long as it is still in production. It's been about 6 months since I picked up my Anshutz from him so not sure if he's still there. Excellent guy to deal with and very knowledgable.

I had the same problem. I order a custom 1712 a few months ago. I have not received it yet but peter has been great.

If you call north silva ask for him by name and you will get the service you need and he can order anything. If you do not ask for him ortell the person who picks up the phone you are looking for an Anschutz they will tell you that they do not deal with the public only dealers.

Give him a call.

You are talking about two different companies that are located at the same address.

Target Shooting Products do sell retail, however North Sylva does not.

I agree with your opinion of Peter Krause, I consider him a friend, we shoot out of the same club.

Hate to rain on your parade but the receipt for my Anschutz says North Sylva so in effect they do sell some products to the public.

Did they have the model you wanted in stock - if not how long did they say it would take to get one for you?

I looked at the 64 MP R and the 1416 (walnut stock and without heavy barrel). For my needs (some target practice and lots of plinking), the 1416 seemed to suit me better -- the 64 MP R is very heavy and has the aluminum bottom (for bench-shooting), which I don't like, looks-wise. For shooting from a standing position with open sites (a challenge I enjoy), the 64 MP R (with a heavy barrel) is quite heavy. The 1416 is much lighter, yet is very solid feeling. I'm going with the 1416 in a lefty.

Peter Kraus said can get me a 1416 by late September/early October (his next shipment).
