I searched for this previously and could not find an answer, so I went ahead and tried it. This post is for future searchers. A Midwest Ind. low profile gas block - both pinned and set screwed models (and similar gas blocks from the other companies) will indeed fit under the skinny Daniel Defense Omega X-Rails with plenty of room to spare.

Hope this helps the next guy.

Also, thanks to Guy at Wolverine for the parts

Always good to know. Thanks for the proactive post. Needs more pics though!

I am running a 12.35" samson mfg freefloat, with the same gas block. Theres tonnes of room, but the rear rail want fit, so I had to shear it and only use 3 screw mounts instead of 4. So stuff like this is good to know before jumping into a project.

How does it not fit, I have the same unit and really like it.

Pics as requested. Also, for anyone in the future that wants to know, the 9" omega rail fits perfect on a carbine length gas system if your intentions are to hide the gas block. It sits 1/4-1/2 inch in from the end of the rail, looks great.

The bottom of the gas block doesnt allow the metal piece that sits in the interior of the free float for the 4 screw rail to screw into. Not enough clearance. It is possible that it's a different gas block, as the upper was built by someone else other than me.

That said I am still super happy with it. Having all that room to work with on the foregrip makes it very comfortable to operate.
