So I took my turdy turdy to the shooting edge today to see how my attempt to remove some horrible copper deposits at the muzzle went, because it was always sending shots waaaay high and to the right, and it looks like its worked. I was grouping on paper at 50 yards...finally!
after I was done shooting, I dropped my rifle off at the counter and cruised for awhile, eventually making my way to the back rifle rack and checked out a synthetic stocked 10/22 that I almost bought. then was told they had one left with the wood stock; this was what I really wanted. so as my birthday gift to me, I bought it! normally, I feel buyers remorse pretty quick, but I feel really good about this purchase, especially since I was able to take it home with me the same day!
So...are there any simple tweaks/changes/improvements that I can make with a minimal amount of money involved? It came with a scope base and I have a bushnell elite 3-9x40 scope that I am toying with the idea of mounting, but the other 10/22 that I have shot which is owned by my brothers father in lawhas iron sites and is a hoot with gophers on their farm near oyen. plus I do have my lakefield mk.2 with open sites as well...so I could put a scope on my new gun.
is there anything to look out for with a brand new 10/22? what about breaking it in...is there such a thing for a .22lr semi-auto aside from going out and shooting a brick of boolits? this pretty girl looks like fun!!
