MMMM, a 6lb all up rifle that shoots 185gr TTSX's at 2700fps? I'm in.![]()
Your scale is lying, everyone knows only a Montana can be that light...
Your Hunter's EDGE is lighter than his MR pattern, and your barrel has a bigger bore...
What powder are you using with those?
B]UPDATE. SPOT msg from my grandson, the ALL POWERFUL TOD BARTELL: Goat Down![/B] that .260 of his finally gets some use!![]()
Good news! Tell him congrats when you talk to him. That makes the lightweight builds worth it right there!![]()
But wait...wasn't there just a thread about anything under .300 magnum being "underpowered for the heavily boned and muscled Mountain Goats"?? Amphib, I think you're mistaken with what he brought...
Archie, Why is yours so much heavier? bartell slipped some lead in your scope before he mailed it?silly .260 users. just worked up a load with 130gr ttsx, puts 3 in 1" at 3000fps

So on Remingtons so far I am 5 for 5 MOA or better. Kimbers I am 1 for 4. Hmmmmm.
His scale is bang-on I'm sure, and that's one wispy rifle.
"Everyone" knows a Montana will weigh the same off the shelf with a full-length barrel.![]()
Will the Kimber be as reliable as a late model Remington? With Remingtons recent track record for QC I believe that's only marginally debatable these days.
I will say that the Model 7 will probably outshoot the 84M in most cases...even though Kimber cuts a a so called "match-chamber"!![]()
must have lied, i'm sure he lugged the .375 Ruger up the hill....![]()
The stainless M7 are harder to come by these days, as they haven't made them in 4-5 years, so that weighs in on the debate as well.
hit the wrong button on my SPOT when I had it on, in my pack![]()
Makes me wish I'd never sold mine in 7-08![]()

You had us fooled...
Glad you had a good trip, better luck next time! Did you see anything?
