And of course, no strings attached!

Hope to hear from you all soon!

Great idea, nice to have an Ontario target supplier.

On question though, have you contacted the CFO wrt the use of your targets on ranges?

Why bother the CFO....?
The cfo tells Clubs/ranges what they can shoot.
They can't tell a manufacturer what to make...
If you want to buy a target and use it somewhere other than an approved range... What business is it of the cfo.

Since the OP is posting in an action shooting section for offering up a free target to
Shooting competition's Staff/Organizers to add to their list of goodies for their winners
Not the go out in your back yard and do whatever you want section. The question is valid.

The cfo has differing rules on what a steel targets can be shot, at, under, near or around depending on which inspector does the range approval. Western, Eastern and Northern Ontario all have different requirements for steel targets on approved ranges.

If the dealer is going to offer this target that could be used at clubs then why not have the vender get a single cfo rubber stamp of this is where, how, what can use this target on approved ranges.

He did not offer a target to use in a competition he offered it as a PRIZE to anyone running an organized match to offer up to the competitors....sheesh. No wonder vendors go henhouse on here with dumb ass comments such as yours.

A great big Thanks to the OP for the very generous offer and disregard the nit wits around here.

Yes, I more than understand that that's why I said could be used at clubs. I am in the market for a few dozen steel targets for use at the club. Each target type brought in seems to have a differing set of rules brought in by the cfo, but since you are from out of province you might have a hard time wrapping your head around how two clubs only 45 minutes apart can have two entirely different sets of rules when it comes to shooting steel.

Oh and btw in case you missed it in my first post

I'm not looking for a hand out I have funds available to buy.

Couldn't pay me enough to move to Onterrible.....sorry about your luck.

Military ranges here = No Steel

Our club has steel silhouettes and other steel fair at various ranges.

Because... What's allowed at different ranges is.... Different.
You're not going to get any sort of "approval" from the CFO with regards to any product... Especially if it reeks remotely of an endorsement.
And besides. Why invite approval from the CFO ?
Many ##### about how evil the CFO is and then some look for every opportunity to invite the CFO into our lives. Hilarious.

The CFO is already very much involved in our lives...no invitation needed, nor do they ask. We have to deal with a very strict set of rules coming directly from the CFO here in Ontario, so the question 6GM6 asked was valid. It appears that his question is not feasable, so thats that. I don't understand all the hostility...

I saw this too late to put my hat in the ring, having just finished running the August 14 ODPL match ... perhaps 667 will sign up with his upcoming Sep 24 match.

And yeah, leave the CFO out of it. Any given range will know what they can or can't do with steels. Or will be happy to educate the lucky winner - and I do mean lucky, steels are fun, yet expensive to acquire.

Hello all! hope everybody had a good weekend. In regards to the CFO regulations:

From what I've researched/been told for indoor ranges a shroud at least 4" high from the surface must be kept to prevent ricochet (though this does nothing of the sort) on at least 3 sides, the bottom is optional. From what we've tested these last 2 weeks to put out our new indoor shooting range target is that taking out the bottom shroud makes the tiny pieces of jacket coming back at you go from minimal to nothing. Mind you this is at 25 yards and happened about twice in a good 3 hour shooting session. A piece that you can't even notice on your shirt; only on bare skin may come back. In regards to outdoor ranges and the sort it feels like there's a different flavor of bureaucrat around every corner so its really up to each clubs administration to decide while the CFO regulations in regards seem pretty minimalistic, steel target = shroud = good enough.

Proof positive about the differences from range to range. We aren't required to shroud it at our indoor range.
