ODPL Two-gun, HAHA, August 14 (Sunday)

Scores are up!

Also the door prize draw is done and winners notified. Will mail the Al Simmons gift certificates when I get postal addresses.

Regarding the wait, yep, August matches are typically sparsely attended (due to vacation) so I didn't do pre-registration and squadding. Surprise, lots of people showed up. Sorry! Looks like we'll do squadding next year just in case.

Also, won't be doing a weak-hand duelling tree again. When a few people are frustrated, it's a good COF; when everyone burns ammo, the bar is set too high. The rest of it was smooth (except for my first-ever double feed requiring a tool to unjam the two rounds... but that's equipment luck, not COF).

Congratulations to Aaron BTW who completed the entire CoF without ANY PE's. The only one to do so. (Ignoring that extra 60 second fiddling with the MUT and your AR wasn't enough to win mind you.)

I was extremely generous to a couple individuals, including one whom by all rights I should have DQ'd for the match. I'm just getting soft I guess since Galt won't be running a multigun this year.

Oh well, not as good as I had hoped, but not as bad as I had a-feared.
I can't say this enough. Aaron and Mike - great job - without guys like you, lazy guys like me would be static shooting at dull bullseyes from 25 yards.
See you soon.

Ok. Pics are up - http://www.odplonline.org/pics-and-vids/

My personal favourite below: someone forgot about the difference between line of sight and the muzzle... which generated a bunch of penalties, as he shot faster than the RO could stop him. We have nicknamed this the "DL notch" since he got the ball rolling for at least one other to follow (notice it has been signed twice):

I carry a big marker around for just such occasions :)
Never know when someone needs to sign their name.

Not sure which event you are talking about, but when a shooter who is spectating the match from 10+ meters away says "F**K THIS" and moves away from obviously unsafe action (being unaware of muzzle location infront of HARD cover) and then the person running the CoF proceeds to shoot said object . Yeah, they should have been DQ'd. I am just thankful it was a 9mm carbine, otherwise that could have been very bad.

Thanks to the guys running the match, No idea how I ended up in the top 3, I thought I sucked.

, I thought I sucked.

You just sucked less than most other people, if you want to look at it that way... your raw times were OK, then your penalty and points down were quite good - in other words, you generally hit the a zone. Makes a difference.

We had several known hot shooters during the day, so you kept up just fine.

The only bad thing would have been a damaged physical prop. Gross negligence however? No. Same with the shots shown in above photos. You saying that those individuals should be DQ's as well for being unaware of muzzle location infront of Hard Cover?

Props get damaged sometimes. Fact of action shooting. As long as all the rounds end up downrange and in the safe zones, life is good.
