Well, I didn't have to hunt too hard to fill my Moose tag this year. :D
Yesterday was opening day in the North section of BC, and at 1:10 PM, I shot a nice 2½Year old Bull.
Small palms, about 5 points on the side, in Velvet.
Going to be great eating! :)
My new 308 Norma Mag has been initiated to the hunt.
One shot, down for the count. 180 TTSX at 3100+

Temp was decent this past few days, around 16ºC day, 6-8ºC night.
It can be warm at this time of year, but not so this year.
You picture whiners, they are on my partners camera, so will be posted once he downloads and sends them to me.
Regards, Eagleye.

Where's the rest of the story????

Now Dave I know you're a long range shooter: did you have to back up for a respectable shot?? Anyway VERY NICE and should be great eating, congratulations.

Hi Bill;
Unfortunately, I did not get the chance to check out the long range capabilities of that Norma Mag on this hunt.
When they show up at 80 yards, I shoot them at 80 yards. LOL
The cover is heavy yet, so long range shots in that area this early would
only occur if you caught one on a Seismic line.
This guy will be great in the pan!
Regards, Dave.

Just have to thank my hunting partner, Kevin, for dragging me out to this area.
Also for supplying the camera.
Saw a fair bit of game in a period of about 16 hours total.
Elk, Moose, Black bear, etc.
