I know that a few rifle making companies chambered hunting/sporting rifles in 6.5x55 Swedish Mauser, but were any chambered in 7.62x54R? other than sportered Mosin Nagants? I sure would like one if they exist!

You've also got the option an SVT-40. It's another milsurp from the 40's, but they are quite accurate. Some even came in a sniper variant just like the Mosin Nagants did.

An option in that caliber would be a Mosin Nagant, but one with a bent bolt in particular so the rifle could accept a regular scope mount rather than doing a scout scope set-up.

Not a bad way to spend $250 IMHO

Not as sporting rifles, though. The 7.62x54R ones were all made with a full-length forend and bayonet lug.

I look at it as a sporting rifle with some military features, as opposed to military rifles that are sporterized.:D
